(POISONED)
The drive to the mansion was quiet, with Lexi lost in thought, wondering why Jameson had behaved so strangely. She couldn't understand why he had suddenly become so angry and possessive.
When they arrived at the mansion, Jameson parked the car and turned off the engine. Lexi finally broke the silence, asking, "Are you going to tell me what happened?"
Jameson sighed and rubbed his temples, his eyes closed.
"Can you just forget about it and go inside?" he asked gruffly. He himself couldn't believe how he has behaved.
But Lexi's curiosity got the better of her. She noticed Jameson's bursted lip and gasped, "What happened to you?"
Jameson opened his eyes and glared at her, his expression softening slightly when he saw her concern.
"It's nothing," he muttered, trying to brush it off.
But Lexi was not convinced. She gently reached out to touch his lip, and to her surprise, Jameson didn't pull away. She cleaned the wound and applied balm on it, her touch gentle and soothing.
As she finished, Jameson looked at her with a mixture of surprise and gratitude.
"Thank you," he said softly, his eyes locking onto hers. Lexi think she must be dreaming, she couldn't believe that he could speak to her gently that way.
Lexi smiled and turned to leave, but Jameson called out her name. "Lexi," he said gently, his voice low and husky.
She turned back to face him, her heart racing slightly. "Yes?"
"Tomorrow, we're going to your parents' house for dinner. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you can prepare yourself," Jameson said, his expression serious.
Lexi nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. She couldn't imagine how the dinner would go.
As they went their separate ways, Lexi lay on her bed, her mind racing with thoughts. She couldn't understand Jameson's behavior, but a part of her was excited to see him again tomorrow.
Just then, her phone buzzed, and she saw that Wayne had called her multiple times. She quickly called him back, wondering what he wanted.

Zayne's face lit up with a warm smile as he saw the person knocking on the door. He quickly opened it, and his brother Wayne walked in, a hint of a smile on his face.
"I thought you'd forgotten about us, brother," Zayne said, embracing Wayne in a tight hug.
"Just busy with school," Wayne replied, hugging him back.
As they walked into the spacious sitting room, their parents looked up from their seats, eager to greet their eldest son. Wayne hugged them both, his mother beaming with pride.
"Look how thin you've grown! Are you eating well?" she asked, concern etched on her face.
"I'm fine, Mum," Wayne assured her, taking a seat.
"How's school, bro?" Wayne asked his brother.
"School's great," Zayne replied, his eyes sparkling.
"Good to hear." Wayne nodded, trusting his brother's judgment.
"What about Jameson? You still see him in school, right?" His father suddenly asked and Wayne frown immediately.
"Why are you asking about him?"Wayne's expression darkened, his brow furrowing.
His father seemed taken aback by Wayne's reaction.
"Are you two still fighting? You should pity the boy, really. He's married now." He said.
Wayne and Zayne exchanged shocked glances.
"What?" Wayne asked, his voice incredulous.
"Married?" Zayne repeated, his eyes wide.
Their mother nodded. "Yes, he got married about a week ago. I'll ask my friend (Mrs. Newton) to send me pictures of his bride. She attends Newton College, you know." She said.
Wayne burst out laughing, a deep, rich sound. "Good for him!"
"I want to see her!"Zayne grinned mischievously.
But Wayne shook his head. "I don't want to see her."
Their parents exchanged confused glances, unsure of what to make of their sons' reactions.
As the conversation continued, Wayne's laughter gradually faded, replaced by a thoughtful expression. He couldn't believe Jameson was married. What was he thinking? And who was this mystery bride?.
.
.
Zayne knocked gently on the door before entering his brother's room. He saw Wayne lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Zayne sat down beside him
"What are you looking for?" Wayne asked.
"So I can't come to my brother's room anymore?" Zayne turned to him and scoffed.
"You can, of course. I just wanted to know what's on your mind." Wayne smiled.
Wayne shrugged. "Nothing much. Just thinking about life."
Zayne nodded. "I know how that feels. But I was actually thinking about that girl at the mall."
Wayne's expression changed, and he looked away. "What about her?"
Zayne leaned in, his voice curious. "I know you like her. Have you asked her out yet?"
Wayne shook his head. "No, not yet."
Zayne raised an eyebrow. "What are you waiting for, brother? Do you want her to be stolen away from you?"
Wayne sighed and rubbed his temples. "I'll ask her out soon, okay? She's in my school now, so I'll see her around."
Zayne grinned mischievously. "You should, brother. You should."
With that, Zayne stood up and left the room, leaving Wayne to his thoughts. Wayne pulled out his phone and started staring at Lexi's pictures, which he had taken unknowingly. He couldn't help but smile as he looked at her beautiful face.
As he scrolled through the photos, he noticed how happy and carefree she looked. He wanted to be the one to make her happy like that. He wanted to be the one she turned to when she needed someone.
Wayne's heart raced at the thought of asking her out. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was willing to try. He wanted to take a chance and see where things would go.
With newfound determination, Wayne put his phone away and lay back on the bed, his mind racing with thoughts of Lexi and what the future held for them.

Victoria stormed into the sitting room, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She ignored her parents, who were waiting for her with concerned expressions, and hurriedly climbed the stairs. Her parents followed immediately, their footsteps echoing behind her.
As they reached her bedroom, Victoria wrapped herself in her blanket, her body shaking with sobs. Her parents sat down beside her, their faces filled with concern.
"What's going on, darling?" Mrs. Thompson asked gently, stroking Victoria's hair.
Victoria looked up, her eyes streaming with tears. "It's Lexi," she cried out, her voice trembling. "She's getting on my nerves, she's trying to take everything from me!"
Mr. Thompson frowned. "What has she done, sweetie?"
Victoria sniffled. "She's just so perfect, and everyone loves her. She's taking away everything that's mine!"
Mrs. Thompson pulled Victoria into a hug. "Stop crying, darling. You know that's not possible when I'm still alive. We'll always be here for you, no matter what."
But Victoria's fears ran deep. "What if everyone starts liking her more than me? What if she takes away my friends, my popularity... everything?"
Mr. Thompson's expression turned stern. "That's not going to happen, Victoria. We'll make sure of it. They're coming for dinner tomorrow, and I'll put her in her rightful place."
Victoria's eyes lit up with a hint of mischief. "Really, Daddy?"
Mrs. Thompson nodded. "Yes, darling. We'll show her who's boss."
Victoria smiled to herself, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew her parents would always be there to protect her, to make sure she got what she wanted.
As they hugged her tightly, Victoria's tears began to dry, replaced by a sense of determination. She would not let Lexi take anything from her. She would fight back, with her parents by her side.

THE NEXT DAY
Lexi breathed nervously as they pressed the doorbell, her heart racing with anticipation. The door swung open, and they entered the grand mansion, the Thompsons' lavish home. But as they stepped inside, Lexi felt a chill run down her spine. The Thompsons ignored her, their faces beaming with smiles as they welcomed Jameson with open arms.
Victoria flung herself into Jameson's embrace, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. Lexi watched, feeling like an outsider, as they gazed into each other's eyes. The Thompsons led them to the living room, where they sat down, their conversation flowing effortlessly. Lexi trailed behind, her eyes fixed on the floor, feeling like a lost sheep.
As they sat down, Lexi took a seat beside Jameson, her eyes fixed on him. But the Thompsons didn't even spare her a glance, their attention focused solely on Jameson and Victoria. They discussed everything from politics to social events, their conversation animated and engaging. Lexi listened in silence, feeling like an invisible presence.
As they moved to the dining room, Lexi followed, her eyes scanning the table. The Thompsons had laid out a feast, the food spread before them like a banquet. Lexi took a seat, her hands shaking slightly as she picked up her fork.
"Dad, can I move in with Jameson?" Victoria asked suddenly, her voice breaking the silence.
The Thompsons' faces froze, their eyes wide with surprise.
"I'm sorry, dear, but that's not possible," Mr. Thompson said gently. "That house belongs to his parents, and they would never approve."
Victoria pouted, her lower lip jutting out. "But I really want to stay with him," she whined, her eyes pleading.
Jameson smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Don't worry, Victoria. We'll figure something out."
Mrs. Thompson leaned forward, her voice soothing. "You shouldn't worry, dear. Soon you'll get what you want. Just have a little patience."
Lexi's eyes widened in shock. Were they seriously discussing this in her presence? She felt like an outsider, a stranger in their midst.
As they finished dinner, Victoria dragged Jameson away, her mother following closely behind. Lexi trailed behind, feeling lost and alone in the grand mansion. She couldn't shake off the feeling that she didn't belong here, that she was just a temporary presence in their lives.
.
.
.
Lexi entered the sitting room, her hands still damp from washing the dishes. She saw her father watching TV and felt a surge of anger and hurt. She had been wanting to confront him for a long time, and now seemed like the perfect opportunity.
She sat down beside him, her heart racing with anticipation.
"What have I ever done to you, Dad?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Why did you suddenly hate me?"
Her father looked at her, his expression unreadable. Then, without a word, he stood up and walked to his office. He came back with a file and threw it at her.
"You want to know why I've been treating you badly?" he asked gruffly. "It's because you're not my daughter."
Lexi's eyes widened as she opened the file. Inside, she saw five DNA test results, all showing that she was not related to her father. She felt like she had been punched in the gut.
"Ten years ago, you were very sick," her father explained, his voice cold. "I took you to the hospital, and the doctor said you needed blood. I wanted to give you my blood, but it didn't match. That's when I realized you weren't my daughter."
Lexi's eyes welled up with tears as she stared at the results. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. "You've been taking care of me all these years, knowing I wasn't your daughter?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Her father nodded. "Yes, I have. And I won't appreciate it if you hurt my real daughter in any way. You should pay me back by continuing to live in her shadow. Unless you want your mother's secret to come out, Did you want people to know that she is a cheater who is pregnant for another man after being marry to me." He said.
Lexi's tears flowed freely now. She was shocked, hurt, and angry all at once. She couldn't believe her father had been keeping this secret from her for so long. She now understands the reason for his sudden change.
"You're blackmailing me," she accused, her voice shaking.
Her father shrugged. "Call it what you want. But I know the truth, and I'll use it if I have to." With that, he storm out of the sitting room, leaving Lexi who was in deep tears.
"I hate my life so much, why is all this happening to me" she cried.
.
.
.
Mrs. Thompson and Victoria led Jameson to Lexi's formal room, a sly smile spreading across Victoria's face. They had been showing him around the house, pretending to be hospitable.
"I found this some days ago, when I wanted to clean her room," Mrs. Thompson said, her voice dripping with malice. She held up an empty pills bottle, her eyes gleaming with triumph.
Jameson's eyes narrowed. "What are these for?"
Mrs. Thompson's expression turned somber. "I visited a doctor because of this, and found out she was using it to prevent pregnancy. But the doctor said too much of it can have the opposite effect... and she's taken a lot of it. The doctor believes her womb has been destroyed."
Jameson's face went white, his eyes wide with shock. He could barely speak, his mind reeling from the news. Victoria's smile grew wider, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
"I'm just telling you this because I don't want you to destroy your whole life," Mrs. Thompson continued, her voice dripping with false concern. "She's been with a lot of men, Jameson. I'm afraid she may bring diseases to you." She added.
Jameson's expression turned horrified, his eyes fixed on Lexi's room as if seeing it for the first time.
He muttered a quick "thanks" and turned to leave.
As he fled the room, Victoria's smile grew even wider. She had succeeded in planting seeds of doubt in Jameson's mind, and she knew it wouldn't be long before he began to hate her so much, she couldn't wait for that time.
Together, they watched Jameson disappear down the stairs, their eyes gleaming with triumph. They had set their plan in motion, and soon, Lexi would be out of the picture for good.
.
.
.
"We should go," Jameson said abruptly, his voice low and tense. He didn't wait for a response, simply turning and walking away. Lexi followed him, her confusion growing with each step.
As they approached the car, Jameson's silence was palpable. He opened the door and gestured for Lexi to get in, his eyes avoiding hers. Lexi hesitated for a moment, wondering what was wrong, but Jameson's expression was unreadable.
Once they were both in the car, Jameson started the engine and pulled away from the mansion without a word. Lexi tried to break the silence, but Jameson's responses were monosyllabic.
As they drove, Lexi couldn't help but notice how troubled Jameson seemed. His eyes were fixed on the road ahead, his jaw clenched in tension. She wondered what had happened, but Jameson's silence was impenetrable.
When they arrived at their mansion, Jameson practically leapt out of the car, slamming the door behind him. Lexi flinched at the sudden noise, her heart racing.
She watched as Jameson stormed into the house, his anger and frustration palpable. Lexi hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should follow him, but something held her back.
As she sat there, trying to make sense of what had just happened, Lexi realized that she had a problem of her own. Her mind was reeling with thoughts of Jameson and what could have caused his sudden change in behavior.
Despite her own turmoil, Lexi couldn't help but feel a pang of concern for Jameson. She knew they weren't close, but something about his behavior tonight had struck a chord within her.
