Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 {Remember Your Place}

Marcella raised her hand to slap Akira again but this time Grandma Rae slapped Marcella who stumbled backwards.

"Mom!"

Grandma Rae's eyes blazed with anger, and her voice was firm.

"Don't you ever raise your hand to Akira again, Marcella. You've been a terrible mother to her, and I'm ashamed of the way you've treated her. You've always put your own interests and desires above hers, and it's time someone stood up to you." Marcella stumbled backward, her face red with shock and anger, but Grandma Rae didn't back down.

"You're going to leave Akira alone and let her live her life in peace. She's not going to be a part of your schemes and manipulations anymore." Grandpa Zion stepped forward, his eyes flashing with anger.

"Yes, Marcella, it's time you learned to respect your family members, especially Akira. She's been through enough because of you."

Terry has only been in the House of Frost Family for seven years now but in her time she has tried her best to please her grandparents but they never showed any kindness at all! No matter how hard she tried Terry is a famous and is known for her innocent beauty even though she is truly knows how to act innocent she hated Akira if it wasn't for that stupid mixup she would be the one everyone loved but instead it was this bitch. Terry put on a fake smile and Hannah hooked her arms around Terry and looked at Akira with disgust.

"Don't you have shame?" Hannah asked coldly.

Terry's fake smile faltered for a moment, and her eyes flashed with anger and resentment. She had always felt like she was living in Akira's shadow, no matter how hard she tried to please her grandparents. She had always felt like she was the one who was meant to be loved and adored, but instead it was Akira who had captured everyone's attention. Terry's eyes narrowed, and she looked at Akira with a mixture of disdain and jealousy.

"Yes, I have shame," Akira said, her voice cold and even.

"I'm ashamed to be related to people like you and your mother. You're both so consumed by your own selfish desires and jealousy that you can't even see the truth. You're not the victim here, Terry. You're not the one who was mistreated and abused. I am." Akira's eyes flashed with anger, and her voice rose.

"And as for you, Hannah, you're just as bad as your mother. You're both manipulative and cruel, and you'll stop at nothing to get what you want."

Hannah's face turned red with anger, and she took a step forward, her eyes flashing with hatred.

"How dare you," she spat.

"You're just a nobody, Akira. A nobody who's been living off of our family's wealth and kindness. You're a leech, a parasite who's been sucking off of us for years." Terry nodded in agreement, her fake smile still plastered on her face.

"Yes, Akira. You're not even a real member of this family. You're just a fake, a pretender who's been trying to steal our place in the spotlight." Akira's eyes never wavered, her expression cold and unyielding.

"I'm not a fake, Hannah. I'm the one who's been real all along. I'm the one who's been true to myself, who's been honest and authentic. You and your mother are the ones who are fake, who are pretending to be something you're not. You're the ones who are trying to manipulate and control everyone around you." The room fell silent, the tension between Akira and the twins almost palpable. Grandma Rae and Grandpa Zion watched the exchange with interest, their expressions unreadable.

"Grandma and Grandpa I am living I fear if I stay longer I might just want to smash some things," Akira muttered coldly and she walked away as she stepped outside The House of Frost Family gate she felt so tired and her mood was ruined she tapped her light pink wrist bind on her wrist a little screen popped up this was a watch as a holographic global cycle popped up she it around and pushed the message button.

A holographic image of a woman with short, spiky hair and a kind smile appeared before Akira.

"Akira, what's wrong? You sound upset," she said, her voice warm and concerned. Akira sighed, feeling a mix of emotions.

"Just the usual, Reina. Family drama. I need to get out of here for a while. Can I come over?" Reina's expression turned sympathetic.

"Of course, Akira. You're always welcome. I'll send a car for you."

Reina was Akira best friend her eyes watered after she hanged up and she sighed this was the first time she heard her best friend. Reina was a beautiful woman with long light purple hair. Her eyes were emerald and she was Ninth Princess Reina Zhekova.

"Princess Reina are you alright?" Reina smiled brightly she stood up and she walked to her brother private office.

"Brother!" Azriel who was busy doing work his cold and indifferent eyes stared at her.

"What?" "You don't need to worry about finding my best friend here I found her and we hang out."

"Ok?" Azriel said indifferently.

Reina's smile faltered for a moment, and she felt a pang of frustration. Her brother's indifference towards her best friend's well-being was nothing new, but it still stung. She took a deep breath and tried to brush it off. "Akira's coming over soon. I'll make sure to take care of her," she said, her voice firm. Azriel's expression didn't change, but he nodded slightly.

"Good. See that you do. I don't want any... incidents." Reina's eyes narrowed slightly at her brother's tone, but she bit back her retort. She knew better than to push Azriel's buttons when he was in one of his moods. Instead, she turned to leave, but not before catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror on the wall. Her emerald eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief, and her long, light purple hair cascaded down her back like a river of night. She smiled to herself, feeling a sense of determination. She would make sure Akira was taken care of, no matter what her brother said.

"Wait Reina," Azriel said coldly as he sat his pen down as he looked straight at his sister.

Reina's eyes met Azriel's, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. She knew that look, and it never meant anything good.

"What, brother?" she asked, her voice cautious. Azriel's gaze seemed to bore into her, his expression unreadable.

"Be good to Akira and treat her well if I find out you mistreated her your 1.2 billion gold Krugers spending allowance will be cut down to 100 million," Azriel said Reina eyes dropped she can't believe this she knows her brother is only one hundred years old and he is young but his a powerful mage but he is sick he has been a wheelchair for the past few years.

Reina's eyes widened in shock, and she felt a surge of anger. How dare he threaten her like that? But she bit back her retort, knowing better than to cross Azriel when he was in a bad mood. She nodded stiffly, trying to keep her temper in check.

"I'll be good to Akira, brother. I promise," she said, her voice tight with resentment. Azriel's gaze lingered on her for a moment, before he nodded and turned back to his work, dismissing her. Reina's eyes flashed with anger, but she turned and left the room, her heart seething with frustration.

Reina turned back and pointed at her brother.

"Brother Akira is my best friend who disappeared seven years ago and she contacted me again, why would I treat her badly? I hate that cousin of mine Liam for breaking Akira heart she did everything for him! Brother I warn you do not anything to Akira she is innocent and she hates royalties the most!" Reina shouted.

Azriel's head snapped up, his eyes flashing with surprise and curiosity. He stared at Reina, his expression unreadable. For a moment, he said nothing, then his voice was low and even.

"Liam? What does he have to do with anything?" Reina's eyes blazed with anger.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, brother! Liam broke Akira's heart and she was devastated. She disappeared for seven years and now she's back, and I won't let anyone hurt her again!" Azriel's gaze narrowed, his eyes glinting with interest.

"I see. And what exactly do you plan to do to protect her, Reina?" His voice was calm, but Reina could sense a hint of warning beneath the surface.

"Brother you are 119 years old you have never been interested in anyone before mother spoke saying how she feared she would never have grandkids but she has many now she can't complain but you have a reputation brother, you also have that disgusting fiancé of yours who flaunts around with your money doesn't care to much about my nephew Prince Kaito that bitch forget stay away from my best friend and marry Rylee who is close to your age we are only kids in your eyes keep it that way," Reina said she didn't want Akira who most likely suffered a lot suffer again!

Azriel's expression turned cold, his eyes glinting with a hint of anger. He leaned forward, his voice low and menacing.

"Reina, you go too far. You will not speak of my personal life in such a manner. And as for Akira, I warn you, do not try to keep her from me. I have... interests in her, and I will not be deterred. You would do well to remember your place, little sister." His words were laced with a subtle threat, and Reina's eyes widened in alarm. She knew that tone, and it never meant anything good. She took a step back, her heart racing with fear for her best friend's safety.
