Chapter 3 - the contract

Adria found herself tapping her finger on the table constantly, her mind roaming places.

She needed to first win over Author's trust, without that, she was at a dead end.

Adria banged her hand against her head.

What exactly did you do Adria? She asked to herself.

She had been so deep in thoughts, that when her assistant walked in, she didn't notice.

"Ms. Cadell…"

"hm? She looked up, as he handed her a file.

"This was the file you asked for weeks ago."

Adria… she sighed, realizing that there would be no point on saying that… after all, she was now her, she needed to take up the responsibilities of her, she needed to be her.

"right… you may leave now." He nodded, and gave a respectful bow, leaving her with it.

Adria flipped open the first page, and at the name of their, so called, soon to be partner, she nearly flipped the table.

Dakota Axton! Yet another scumbag! He thought he could get away with what he did to her?

Karma truly is a bitch.

Adria looked at it, and with a clear of her throat, pressed a red button, that immediately signaled for her assistant.

"Yes Ms. Cadell? You called for me."

"right… terminate this." She flung it to him.

"huh?"

"I said terminate the contract." He began chuckling nervously.

"w-why?" Adira glared at him.

"are you questioning my judgement… now, Javen?" she twinkled a brow.

"n-no, not at all." He picked up the file, and ran straight out.

Adria hummed and shifted in her chair, leaning back into it with crossed legs.

"lets see what your going to do now… Dakota."

She played with a pen.

A sudden buzz was heard, making Dakota turn his attention towards his phone.

He picked it up, seeing as it was from someone he had been waiting to get back in contact with.

"How did it go?"

Silence fell dead on both of them.

"She terminated it… sir."

Dakota paused for a moment.

"And why so?"

"I too, I'm yet to find out the reason." Dakota tried his best not to let an annoyed smile on, but it already was.

"thank you." The line suddenly hung up.

"is something wrong." A sweet, yet decent voice came from his back, their hand wrapping around his neck from behind, before placing a kiss on his cheek.

"no… nothing… nothing at all." He reassured

The girl laughed and then softly bit on his ear.

"You, are a terrible lier, you know that?" She chuckled.

Zendaya Cortez... The daughter to Marcus Cortez, equally a big time actress.

She mainly nailed her rows thanks to her Beauty, money, and her father's connection.

She walked to his front.

Her hair, blond, lips, pink, and eyes brown. She was the goddess to every other average girl out there.

Zendaya say down, trying to understand the look Dakota had on.

"I'll be heading out to somewhere soon."

"Great, I'll come with." Dakota nodded, not wasting any of his time.

Adria got up, the door swung open, and there came Javen.

"I've informed him, Ms. Cadell." He lowed his head slightly.

"Good." Adria stood close to the window, admiring the beautiful scenery going on outside.

She glanced over her should the moment she realized that, Javen has still been there.

"You may leave now." She spoke a d turned around to watch him leave.

Some people just had to mind their business, and she was doing perfectly just that, with hers.

Adria walked back to her table, her finger tapping on the table once again.

She needed to get going, it was already late.

Adria opened the door, walking up to the elevator and pushing the button.

Seconds later, and the elevator came, descending down to her, the door opened, and she stepped in.

A soft, and gently music played, as the elevator's doors came to a close.

Peacful, just like she wanted.

The elevator's doors opened and Adria stepped out. She was also quick to spot a car right outside, not like there weren't many... But that one just seemed to get her attention.

"Ms. Adria." Javen called, snapping her out of her trans, and back to reality.

"Yes?'

"The car is ready... Please this way." They began heading for the door, and just when they passed, Zendaya bumped into one of the staff, carrying a tray full of juice.

Adria, being concerning as always turned to look.

She gasped. "W-what are you doing?!" Zendaya asked, her clothes now drenched in fruit juice.

"I am so sorry... I-i' LL get you something to clean that up right away."

The girl turned and dashed for a table holding napkins, hand her a bunch, and using few to wipe the floor.

"Ms?" Javen pulled her slightly...

"What?"

"The madam has called for us..."

"Madam?" Adria looked confused.

"Madam Correy." That name rang a bell.

That cunning witch...

Ever since that day, she got hit by that old lady... Adria hated her to her guts.

"Right... We were meant to meet u this evening?"

Javen nodded. "Infact." He pulled his sleeves up, reviewing his watch. "We are 10 minutes late... If we don't get there any sooner..." Adria sighed, and look one more look at the poor girl, before turning her way.

What a peasant. She thought, a hand now over her mouth.

There was a smell, one she could remember from anywhere, and everywhere, it smelt close, extremely.

Adria looked up immediately, there was no one in front, so where could it be coming from.

That wasn't a problem she should face.

Meanwhile, Zendaya was still trying to remove the stain.

"Are you alright?" Dakota walked up to her, and wrapped his coat around her.

"I'll be fine... Didn't you come here for something?" She looked up at him.

Dakota nodded, and walked up to the counter.

"Is Adira cadell around by any chance?" He asked in a hurry.

"I'm afraid you just missed her sir... She left quite a while ago."

Dakota snapped his gaze to where he had pointed, few people were walking there, and it seemed crowded. There was no way he could get to talk to her in that state.

"Shall I schedule an appointment for you later in the day?" He turned back and nodded.

"Yes, you do so."

Adria cadell...
