PAIN BEHIND THE BEAUTIFUL FACE

Amahle's pov
My mind was racing as I tried to think of a way out. I knew I couldn't let Xolani intimidate me. I took a deep breath and tried to sound calm. "I don't think that's a good idea, Xolani," I said, trying to stall for time. "My friends will definitely come looking for me. And they won't give up until they find me." Xolani's smile faltered for a moment, and I saw a glimmer of uncertainty in his eyes. But then his expression hardened again, and he leaned back in his chair. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice dripping with malice.
I knew I had to keep him talking, to try and distract him while I thought of a plan. "What do you want from me, Xolani?" I asked, trying to sound curious rather than scared. Xolani leaned forward again, his eyes glinting with excitement. "I want to know what you're hiding," he said, his voice low and menacing. "I know you're involved in something, Amahle. And I'm going to find out what it is." I felt a surge of fear at his words, but I tried to stay calm. I knew I had to think fast, to come up with a story that would convince Xolani to let me go.
