As we ran deeper into the woods, the sound of Xolani's voice grew fainter. I started to feel a sense of hope that we might actually escape.
But then, I heard the sound of footsteps behind us. Heavy, deliberate footsteps. I turned to see Xolani emerging from the trees, his eyes fixed on us with a malevolent glare.
Themba saw him too, and he grabbed my arm, pulling me faster through the woods. But Xolani was gaining on us, his long strides eating up the distance.
Suddenly, Themba stumbled, his foot catching on a root. He fell hard to the ground, and I tried to pull him up, but Xolani was too close.
With a snarl, Xolani reached out and grabbed Themba, hauling him to his feet. Themba struggled and kicked, but Xolani was too strong.
And then, in a flash of horror, Xolani's fist connected with Themba's jaw, sending him crashing to the ground. I screamed as Xolani raised his foot, ready to deliver the final blow...
