She shook her head.
"No, Harmony. You cannot ask that to Drake. You cannot be that shameless," she scolded herself.
"Harmony, are you okay?" Drake"s voice brought her back to her senses and when she turned her head, she saw that the man was looking at her with his forehead knitted.
"Oh, y— yes," she said, stammering. "I am sorry, I just remembered something," she added in defense.
She wanted to pull her hair but she held herself because she didn"t want Drake to think anything else about her.
How could she look like a fool in front of Drake?
"Call your mom or send her a message, anything that works for you. So, Ms. Catalina knows that we are already on our way home and she will not worry about you anymore," Drake said which made her smile.
"Oh, yes, I will," she said and then she took her phone. She chose to just send a message to her mom but while she was typing a message, Drake leaned forward to her and then he started to put on her seatbelt.
That gesture gave her the chance to smell his masculine scent perfume.
His fresh breath didn"t escape her nostrils and she almost closed her eyes. Thankfully, Drake spoke again.
"You should always remember wearing your seatbelt. I might get a violation if you always do that," he said in a calm tone. He was not mad or irritated.
She was just looking at his face as he started the car. Harmony could still feel her heart beating so fast because of how close she was with Drake earlier.
She couldn"t explain the kind of feeling that the man had brought to her inner being. She was sure that she never felt this way even to Paul.
"Have you tell Ms. Catalina?" Drake said again which made her blink and realized that she didn"t send the message yet.
She showed the phone and shook it in front of him to hide the shame that she had felt.
"Sent," she said and then after that she focused herself on the road.
Though it was already dark and she couldn"t clearly see the view unlike earlier when they were on their way to the place.
She looked at her wrist watch and she didn"t notice that it was already past nine in the evening. Probably, they"d be home before midnight since there would be no traffic anymore.
Harmony admitted that she did enjoy this day. She knew to herself that it would be one of the experiences that she would never forget in her entire life. Because of Drake, she was able to witness a natural phenomena that she thought she would only see on television.
She couldn"t help but smile when she remembered the fireflies. She couldn"t believe that they existed in this kind of place.
Harmony felt like her eyelids were getting heavier. It seemed like they already like to sleep. She tried to shake her head so she wouldn"t doze off.
Adrian couldn"t help but smile as he looked at Harmony. It seemed that she had been so tired because of everything that they had done for the whole afternoon.
She was peacefully sleeping. He decided to recline the seat so she could sleep comfortably. As far as he could see with the map, they were still like an hour away from their place.
He had already dropped her home when he introduced her to his family so he already knew her address.
Harmony was not the typical woman he met in his everyday life. She"s one of those few women who knew how to play the cards that they had in their hands but just like any other women, she had a soft heart.
Drake knew that she was still hurting from the break up that she had a couple of weeks ago.
He couldn"t ask her how she was taking it or how she was feeling after the break up so he just decided to bring her to a place where she could unwind.
She deserved to be treated since she had been so good when they were at home. She faced his family with grace and he couldn"t be happier.
"Drake, please make sure to take care of Harmony," his grandmother said when he came back home after dropping Harmony at their house. He looked at the old woman. His eyes were asking what she meant by what she had said.
"I am sorry but she was pure and innocent. Did you notice how she looked at you and everyone? I could see that she was affected earlier. I already talked to your Aunt Carmela and not to do that again in front of Harmony. You are lucky to have her, dear," his grandmother continued.
He was shocked. He never expected that his grandmother would really like Harmony. He couldn"t help but wonder what could be their reaction once they learned that he and Harmony were not really in a romantic relationship.
"Thank you, grandma. I will do my best to take care of her and I am sorry if I need to walk out. I just didn"t want her to hear everything that my father and my Aunty would be saying about me," he said in a low voice.
He was in pain and he couldn"t hide that to his grandmother.
He couldn"t understand why his dad was never happy with anything that he had done. He was always disappointed if not angry at him.
"That"s okay. Don"t be mad at them. Like what I said, I already talked to them and the next time that Harmony would be here, they couldn"t say anything especially when I am with you," she said and smiled at her.
Drake felt a bit guilty because of what his grandmother said. How he wished that he could tell her the truth but he knew that it was already too late to back out with his plan with Harmony.
