"Who"s Cynthia?" Drake asked and then he looked at her since the light was still red.
She let out a deep sigh. She hated herself for being so talkative.
"Nah... never mind," she said and then she focused her gaze outside. She didn"t want to tell Drake about what happened to her at the university. Though she knew to herself that she didn"t do anything with Paul. It was him who ended their relationship so she couldn"t understand what the people were talking about.
She didn"t want to think that it was Paul who spread the news about their breakup. She was sure that he was not that kind of person who"d put the blame on her.
"Hmn..." Drake cleared his throat obviously he was trying to get her attention.
So, she turned to him.
"So, we are here," the man said as he unbuckled his seat belt and then he turned to her and did the same.
For the second time around, Harmony felt like there was a spark that happened when Drake got closer to her which she couldn"t understand.
His scent was so masculine and it seemed that it was making every part of her body to be active.
She couldn"t help but quickly closed her eyes as she sniffed his scent. It was making every brain cell awake inside her head.
Harmony opened her eyes and her face went red when she realized that Drake was staring at her face and then he saw how his focus diverted on her red luscious pouty lips.
Suddenly, she felt her throat parched. She couldn"t help but swallow saliva.
She could hear heart pounding so fast. She couldn"t help but imagine his lips next to her.To her dismay, Drake distanced himself to her and then he quickly went out of the car. She followed him with her eyes and she saw that he turned around to open the door on her side.
She felt embarrassed because of what happened. It seemed that she was starting to get affected with Drake"s presence.
"But, that"s wrong, Harmony. You cannot let yourself get attached to him because this was just purely contract and nothing else," she said to herself.
How many times did she have to remind herself about that rule?
She wanted to pull her hair because of acting stupid. She was thankful that Drake didn"t say anything and he just got out of the car.
"Let"s go," he casually called her and then he still held her hand while he guided her to get out of the car.
It was as if nothing happened inside the car.
And, Harmony couldn"t be more thankful with Drake for acting as if they should just forget what happened back inside.
They walked together and headed to the coffee shop. It was a different coffee shop a bit far but she was sure that no one knew her here. She wouldn"t be receiving those accusing looks.Though she knew to herself that she shouldn"t be affected because that rumor was not true, she couldn"t help it.
Her mind was full of questions as to why that news even spread and who the hell spread it at the campus?
"What do you like?" Drake said and that brought her back to reality.
"I just like java chips and a blueberry cheesecake," she said. She was a bit hungry as she was unable to eat her lunch. She had been busy reviewing her lectures because their exam day was soon.
"Is that all?" Drake asked her again.
"Actually, can you add one slice of carrot cake?" She said and then looked away from him.
Drake couldn"t help but smile because of Harmony.
He couldn"t understand why he was enjoying the woman"s company. He was standing in front of the cashier at the coffee shop where he took her and they were getting their order.
He found it funny but he held himself from laughing because he didn"t want Harmony to be embarrassed when she asked for an addition of carrot cake. He couldn"t imagine what size of intestine she had to be able to eat all of those.
"No problem. This one is good. Maybe you want to try it," he said while pointing to the cream cheese cake.
She just smiled at him.
"Alright. Please give us one blueberry cheesecake, carrot cake, and a cream cheese cake. Two slices of cream cheese cake please. For drinks, a java chips and a white chocolate mocha," he said to the cashier in front of them.
"Is that all sir?"
"Yes, thank you."
"What name should be written on it?"
"Drake on white chocolate mocha and Harmony on the java chips.""Nice names. Sir, you can now stay on the other side until your name is called," she said and then she smiled.
He nodded and waited for their orders to be served.
"I will go ahead and check for a table," she said.
"Thanks," Drake uttered.
He couldn"t help but follow her with his eyes. Until now he couldn"t understand why he was here and he even picked her up in school. This was never a part of his plan and he was starting to get confused with everything that was happening to him.
He felt that there was a spark happening every time that he got closer to her but he was choosing to ignore that.
Drake shook his head. Probably, he just really appreciated the woman.
"Drake," the crew called out his name.
He lifted his hand.
He took the tray filled with their orders.
He still couldn't believe that they ordered everything. He couldn"t help but wonder if Harmony would be able to finish everything.
Drake roamed his eyes around the coffee shop and looked for Harmony. He didn"t know what happened but he felt like he was Iron Man and he went as fast as he could to the table where the woman was sitting.
His eyebrows were drawn together and his forehead was knitted while he was staring at Harmony.
