"Wow... well... this is a pleasant surprise," Maxwell said with smug amusement as he walked into Aiden's command room. The armed men guarding him spread out and aimed their guns at Marina and Marcus.
Marina held her breath as she tightened her grip on the USB drive. She was terrified, but she refused to let fear show. Maxwell must never see that. "What are you doing here, Maxwell? Don't you have a tower to run?"
Maxwell chuckled lightly, "Ah, my dear, Marina, always so quick with the witty expressions. But sincerely speaking, you are the last person I expected to find in the middle of this little charade."
Marcus tucked his shirt and comported himself slightly in front of Marina. "You have made a grave mistake coming here, Maxwell. I believe you know Aiden won't let you walk out of this house alive."
Maxwell let out a loud laugh, clearly he wasn't going to let the words of a woman scare him.
