Bradwell Tower
Marina was so afraid at the sound of the gunshot that echoed in the night. Still clutching the ladder tightly, she looked up, fear gripping her... "Aiden!" she screamed, her voice trembled with fear. But no response came back.
"Aiden!!" she yelled again, her voice louder, with desperation pricking her voice.
Marcus's voice shot through her earpiece. "Marina, what is going on? Did something happen to Aiden?"
"I… I... I don't know," Marina stuttered, "there was a shot, and..."
Her words trailed off as she saw a something move on the balcony above her... It was Aiden who emerged from the darkness, his silhouette sharp against the faint glow of the city lights.
"I am okay," Aiden called down, his voice he sounded weak.
Relief soured through Marina, her legs almost giving out as she held on to the ladder. "Don't you ever scare me like that again!"
