After a few minutes, the rough man of a gatekeeper came out and used the remote to open the gate. Sometimes, she wondered why he was paid more when all he only did was press the remote. He doesn't guard them as there are bodyguards for that.
She sighed as she finally entered the compound. After parking her car, she came down in boiling fury. First, her talk with her dad could wait, now she had to talk some sense into the gatekeeper's head.
"Bard, leave whatever you are doing and report here!" She commanded, her hands placed on her waist ready for action.
"Sorry ma'am, here I am." Bard showed up, his back hunched. He was just one old man that Mr. Wellington decided to help by giving him the job.
As she realized the situation, her mind clicked at something. She found a way to let her friend inside her brother's office. She looked at the man standing in front of her and hissed before going in.
The old man just stared at her as he went in, totally confused about what she had in mind for him.
Summer walked into the sitting room, her shoes clanking against the tiles, announcing her arrival.
"Could you perhaps tell your shoes to take it easy, I'm trying to eat here? Goddamn!" Mr Wellington said from the dining area.
"Oh pops, sorry about that," she apologized and didn't stop at that, she also removed her shoes and held it in her hands as she walked forward to meet him.
"So, how are you doing today?" she asked, feigning concern on her face.
"What do you need from me?" Mr Wellington dropped his cutlery and asked as he stared at her. He knew his daughter even if he didn't know his son, she would only care for someone else apart from herself only if it will do something for her.
"What do you mean Pops? I am only being nice." She said with a pout formed on her lips.
"I heard you, can you let me eat in peace at least? You hovering over my head with heels held won't surely help me with digestion." she added sarcastically before picking up his cutlery back.
"Fine dad, I'll just say what I need from you," she finally gave in to him and dropped her acts.
"I want to go have a holiday at my brother's house and my friend needs a job at my brother's office," she said.
"Why is everything about your brother? Who is this friend you speak of? You never spoke about her, is she the one you brought home who you both used drugs?" He asked with his brows raised as he chewed on his fork.
"No, Amira is a good girl. She is a Christian."
"Ah…I see, she is Amira. But when did being a Christian become the credential for deciding the character of a person?"
"Dad, please stop being so hard, I really want to stay at my brother's as I need to get along with my sister-in-law, I need something from her and my friend is just like this gateman you allowed, she needs the job, her family is falling apart." She lied, her eyelids twitching.
"Since when did you start making friends with poor people?" He asked again with a calm expression.
"She wasn't poor before, and dad, say something." She begged him again with a pout.
"Fine, find out the vacant post at your brother's office and also, let me eat in peace. You can go wherever you want." He said with his mouth stuffed with meat.
"That's why I love you daddy, you are so sweet," she complimented him, seeing that she had gotten what she wanted before leaving the place.
"That's not why you love me, you love me because I'm rich enough to take care of you," Mr. Wellington said with a sigh as he watched his daughter receding back.

"Babe, I've done it, my father agreed to get you a job and also, I'm going to my brother's place!" She announced squealing happily.
"That's so damn good! So, when are you going there?" Amira asked across the phone.
"You mean my brother's?"
"Yes!"
"Unfailingly, tomorrow!" Summer replied. They both chatted for a few more minutes before ending the call.
Summer packed a few other clothes before sleeping.

"I'm sorry, I won't be able to come home today." Aiden concluded his plea on the phone with Marina.
"Marina sighed before replying, " there's no problem. It's not like I'm entitled to your attention, I'll just continue like it has always been and also, I'm sorry about the kiss earlier today." She apologized all together.
"You seriously don't need to be sorry…" Aiden tried saying but Marina stopped him, "No, it's okay, I understand."
"Alright, goodnight." They both bid each other bye for the night.
After ending the call. Marina stared at nature before getting back down under the cover, letting sleep take over for the night.
*Knock * Knock * Knock*
"Sorry, who is that?" Marina was unwillingly forced out of her beautiful slumber from the abrupt knock on the door.
She rose from the bed and walked to the door. Placing her hand on the door knob, she opened the door to meet Summer, her husband's sister.
"Sister-in law! What are you doing here!?" The words rolled out of her mouth as she stared at her in shock.
