Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"Sister-in law! What are you doing here!?" The words rolled out of her mouth as she stared at her in shock.

Summer stood in front of her with a huge grin plastered on her face, she was quite happy that she managed to bring out that kind of expression from her. After letting Marina stare at her for a while, she finally uttered.

"Sister-in law, you surely won't just open your mouth and keep watching me. At least, I assume you were taught this much at home to know how to accommodate guests and the fun fact is that I'm not even a guest but rather a family member here."

Marina was at a loss for words and didn't even know how to reply to her, she just sighed and said, "I'm sorry sis, I'll get the maid to make something for you."

"Quite better," Summer nodded with a smirk.

They both left the front of her room and walked towards the sitting area. "So, tell me how life has been with my brother?" Summer ran her mouth as they walked there.

"It's good," Marina responded curtly.

"Are you being secretive now or there's just nothing to share?" Summer craned her neck to look at her well and then added with a grin, "Or perhaps, there's even nothing to tell."

Marina didn't respond to her and just sighed and Summer added, "Just as I thought, my brother's brain isn't dead yet."

They finally got to the sitting room and they sat on the chair. Marina was about to reach out to the remote before Summer abruptly overtook her, "You don't mind that, right? There's a show I wanna watch."

"No, it's okay. I just wanted to help you input it actually." Marina said, shaking her head.

"Oh…actually, that's kind of a bad decision. With the type of person you are, I don't even think that you will know the type of shows I watch. At least, we are so vastly different," she said as she looked at her from head to toe, definitely hinting something else apart from the remote.

Marina just laughed dryly before asking, "So, sis, why are you here?"

The question earned a raise of an eyebrow from Summer who looked at her weirdly then Marina quickly changed her questions as she assumed she worded it wrong, "Sorry…I mean, like is there anything you need ..like?"

"Wait…" Summer paused before she went further, "I heard you the first time. Are you trying to send me out of my brother's house? Or no, are you trying to dictate when I can come?" She asked, scoffing.

"No, that's not it." Marina said, trying to make her understand, "It was just abrupt so I didn't prepare anything and it came as a sudden."

"Are you implying that I do things rashly?"

"No sis…" Marina hadn't finished talking before she cut her off again.

"It's okay," Summer uttered, crossing her legs, "I'm here to stay for a while." She announced.

"What?!" Marina unintentionally blurted out, she was obviously shocked.

"You don't want me to?" Summer raised an eyebrow as she waited for her response.

"No, that's not it."

"Well…I don't even care if you want it not. It's not yours to decide." She said with a flip of her hair. "So, are your maids not going to give me food?"

"I'll go and check on them."

In the kitchen, Marina entered with a scrunched up face. One of the maids who was close to her, Ethel, came closer to her, "Are you alright, miss?"

"Yes, yes…I am." Marina replied, nodding her head.

"Ma, don't worry. I've already called the boss and he'll come get Miss Summer out from here and you'll be fine." Ethel said in assurance.

"What?!" Marina shouted, "What did you do? Did I tell you to do that?".

"Ma'am, I'm very sorry. I didn't know that you don't…" Ethel tried to talk but Marina just shut her up.

"Just shut up, sew your mouth. You all should make a nice meal for my sister in law and you Ethel, let me make my fucking decisions. Don't make them for me." She said in annoyance before going out of the kitchen.

"Where are you going, sis?" Summer asked with a smirk as she saw Marina storming off.

"I just need to get to the bathroom, your food is getting ready." Marina said as she walked off without even waiting to hear her response.

She knew who she married. She knows that he'll come straight to drive his sister out as soon as he hears about her being here and she doesn't want to be the reason their family relationship won't be good.

She needed to call him and tell him not to worry and that was exactly what she had to do.

As soon as Marina entered her room, she shut the door and latched her hand on her phone which was currently laying on the bed.

She dialed Aiden's number and smiled at the name she stored it with.

* * * *

Aiden's Office.

"Sir, your phone is ringing."

"Who is it?" Aiden asked as he kept on signing off the documents on his table. He planned to quickly complete his day work and then rush down home to get his sister out of his house.

He was still quite frustrated about his grandfather going to his house without his consent and now his sister, and the worst is that she wanted to stay for a while in his house as if her father was dead.

"It's your wife, boss." His personal assistant replied with a grin.

"Then bring it," Aiden said with a scowl.

"Hey, what's up?" He picked the call.

"I'm really sorry for calling you while you are at work." Marina first said the first sentence she always said anytime she called him when he was at work and Aiden just listened with a broad expression on his face.

"Marina, I've told you that you don't have to be sorry. We are husband and wife, legally married, if you can't call me at work, who else can, then?" He said his mind out, the same thing he had been saying every time.

"I'm sorry about that," she added.

"Yeah…sorry all the time." Aiden scoffed, and then added with a low tone, "Sorry about my sister coming over. I promise I'll come over quickly and get her butt out of our house."

"That's why I called," Marina said with a soft voice as he was even fast to say what she was about to caution him against, "I don't want you to get her out of your house. She is your sister and also mine that way. We are sister-in-laws and she had come to greet me."

"What the fuck?" Aiden chuckled as he said, "That's what she told you, the sister bullshit. Look, that lady in our house isn't there for anything good. Trust me."

"Please, do this for me." Marina pleaded as she could see that he didn't plan on listening.

"But…that lady.." he was about to continue relaying the reason Summer needed to be sent out but Marina cut him off again.

"Please…" she said and he could swear that he imagine her eyes brimming with tears so he had no choice but to comply.

"It's fine. Okay, do whatever you want, Marina." He concluded and they ended the call.

Marina sighed as the call cut off. She went into the bathroom and had her bath. She came back and dressed up in a comfy cloth before going back to the sitting room.

"Sis, what took you so long? Were you sleeping in the toilet?" Summer asked with a chuckle as she chewed on her food.

Marina looked at her and replied, "I took a bath and dear, bathrooms aren't meant for sleeping, and I assume you were taught that much in school."

Summer chucked as she looked at her, "Wow…so that bathroom was a makeover for you. Now, you're talking bad about me."

Marina just shook her head before sitting on the dining table and she dished herself a meal to eat.

"Table manners please," she cautioned Summer who was about to talk to her.
