"Is it just to help your friend? If its that inviting me might do a greater harm than help actually." Maevie asked.
There really was a reason why Wander wanted to send Maevie to the show. And that reason was to dismiss Maevie's image of being a mindless star chaser, which she attained during her participation in the show.
He had been observing the girl. She had not mentioned the guy ever since she had woken up from the accident. So, he hoped… No… He prayed that she had given up on the guy. And that now that she had changed, she'd focus more on her career.
But he could not say those out loud. He feared that bringing up the name of the person in their conversation would not help his mission at all.
"I just want you to try something new."
"…"
"…"
"Whatever…" Maevie was reluctant to except the reason but she could not beat the truth out from the older man could she.
"So, you agree to go to this show?" The agent was eager.
"Have you considered that going on a dating show might bring me hates instead of help?" Maevie wondered.
"This is just a friendly date at most. As long as you behave well, I'm sure you can change your image."
"What makes you so sure that I'll behave well?"
Now that one left the agent speechless.
"Wel… I hope you will. For the best of us…"
Maevie really felt bad for the troubles she had brought to the agent. Her foolish and ignorant self…
"Okay. Let's confirm this one then."
"I'll get straight to it!!"

Maevie's schedule for the next two months, starting from the coming week had been arranged.
The first on the list was the short web drama 'Page of Promises.' It only had 20 episodes and would be released two months after the filming was completed.
The role that Maevie would be playing was that of a childhood friend of the female lead who reunited with her friend in the college. She had less than twenty minutes of screen time in the whole drama. But Maevie considered it as a warm up.
Not for herself. But for the audience. After all. It was impossible for someone to improved exponentially in such a short time. So she had too warm them up by doing these little characters perfectly.
And although Maevie had never been to a collage in her real life, she had graduated at least a dozen times with the help of the system at almost all every field.
So, she was confident that she would ace her acting.
Now that the topic was brought up… She wondered if she should go to college. At least saying that she was a graduate would be more prestigious than saying she was just a high school pass out.
"Aunt?"
"Hmm… Do you want some more rice darling?" Mrs. Cacia looked at the almost empty bowl of Maevie.
"No… I was wondering if I should go to college…"
"…"
The dinning room was so quite at even the drop of a small pin could be heard. That was until Abel choked on his rice.
Mama who was sitting besides him patted on his back.
"You kid. Why are you so careless?"
"You shouldn't be scolding me. Blame her for talking nonsense." Abel refused to be blamed.
"Shut up!!" Mrs. Cacia scolded her youngest son.
Ignoring the mother and son, Mr. Cacia looked at his niece and questioned with seriousness in his eyes.
"Did you just say you want to go to college?"
"I just realized that not going to college is not something to be proud of."
"Why the change of thought?" The man inquired.
"Before I thought that it would be of no use to go to college when I'm not even interested in studying. Now…"
"Now you want to study?" Abel asked impatiently.
"No… I don't want to study." Maevie rejected.
'I had done too much studies in my own mind to publish my own Q&A for thirteen subjects.' Maevie thought before she continued.
"I just feel that having a graduate certificate is better than just having a High School certificate."
"Why did your so call friends mock you for not going to college? Ahh!"
Abel's attempt to take revenge on the girl of what happened this after noon resulted him in being smacked at the back of his head by his loving mother.
Although it was not the reason for the sudden desire to go to college, what Abel said had some truth in it. Maevie had been indirectly mocked by her so called friends who did not bait an eye to abandon her when she fell in trouble.
But the Maevie then, although knowing that they were making fun of her did not get bothered by them as she had a strong belief that she was not meant to go to college. And she would care even less about how they saw her.
Because in the end of the day, they were the ones pleading her to hang out with them. Even if they only did so to get her to pay all their expenses, they still had to lower their head to her despite all their opinions.
And she who was a lioness did not care of the small noise those mice were making.
Maevie was silent the whole time after Abel made the mocking remark, that even the person who did so with the aim of getting revenge, felt a tiny bit of guilt thinking she was indeed bullied by others.
"Honey. Is it true? Did your friends bully you?" Mrs. Cacia's gentle voice woke Maevie up.
"No. Aunt. Nobody bullied me." The young girl comforted the woman. "I'm just regretting the choice I made three years ago. I could have gotten in some small college and gotten a certificate by June this year."
"I did suggest it then." Mr. Cacia stated.
"Yes. But I was too much of a fool to listen to your advice." Maevie admitted her flaw obediently.
"It's good that Maevie is realizing your mistake now. It's not too late anyway. You're still so young. You can go to college. Just let your big brother or second brother arrange it for you."
"Thank you. Uncle."
"Hey why am I not included in the name of those you can do the job?" Abel noticed the lack of his name in what his father had said.
"Because you barely got graduated yourself." Maevie was quick to reply.
"Hey! Computer programming is a tough subject. It did not help that the question was leaked that year and the board decided to toughen up the question that year."
"Yeah yeah!!! Only dumb people make excuses for their lack of talents."
"You!!..."
There it began, another round of harmless bickering.
