The day for Maevie to join the 'Page of Promises' crew had finally arrived. Agent Wander went along with her to introduce her to all the important people of the crew.
On the first day, she did not have any scene. Just took some photos for cast publicity and her job was done in two hours. Wander left the responsibility of handling Maevie to Nora and went to accompany Blaye.
Maevie's real job began from the next day.
"Hello!" She greeted the young girl seating besides her.
Loana was the actress playing the female lead. She was a new talent who was on her way to becoming a great actress. And had already had a huge number of followings on her social media accounts.
"Hi…"
The reluctance of the young girl could not be hidden from Maevie. And she was not surprised. With how she acted before and considering her reputation in the industry, every body would be reluctant to be close to her. Specially some as new as Loana. The green bud like her would not know how to get along with a ticking time bomb like Maevie. Whether she should avoid being close to her like her agent warned her. Or whether Maevie would be offended by her avoidance.
"I'm supposed to be very close to Mimi in the drama. So, I hope I can be close to the one who's playing Mimi too…"
Maevie did not mind taking the first step. She gave the young girl her most charismatic smile. And by the girl's reaction, she knew her charm had totally worked.
But too bad, before she could allure the little cute hamster like sister to her trap, they were called for the first scene of the day.
The scene Maevie had to do was meeting the female lead by coincidence in the university and also being allotted to the same dorm room. It was a fairly easy scene. And got passed in the first shot. They only had to take a few more shots for close up and different angles.
The director and a few members of the crew had a few worries about her reputation of being hard to control and her acting skills. But since she came from the Sirus Entertainment's investment, they thought of making do with her.
But unexpectedly, she had done a great job on her first scene. The director did not know if it was just a lucky shot or that she had improved her skills. All he hoped was that every scene would go this way.
"You've done a great job!" Maevie complemented Loana.
The thin faced girl began to blush remembering that she was bedazzled by the smile Maevie had given her before. And now she almost did the same thing.
"Thank You!" She almost screamed out.
"Do you like coffee?" Maevie suddenly asked.
"Huh?... Amm… Yes. I do."
"What flavor?"
"Hazelnut with caramel."
'That a good one. So… Since I'm new to the crew, I was thinking of buying everyone's favor with some coffee. But I don't know their preference. Would you mind helping me a bit?"
"Yeah… Sure…"
And like that, people, Maevie had entered through someone else wall without the person even noticing it.
And getting the coffee turned out to be a great decision. Everyone began to open up to her more freely after being bribed by the drink. Food is really the easiest way to get closer to someone. In Maevie's case everyone.
'Being rich really makes life easier.' Nora mused. Then she saw the drooling face of the Loana as she watched Maevie's face unblinkingly. 'And being good looking too.'
Throughout the day, Maevie had been in the set and even by the end of the day, the actress felt very… energetic. Since it was a youthful drama, around 60% of the cast in the drama were under the age of 25 and amongst which majority were under 20. So, Maevie was on the older side of the casts.
Needless to say, with so much youthful people in the same confinement, there will always be energy, loudness and entertainment. And Maevie was also infected by this energy. She was having fun hanging out with these young inspired people.
The example would be the two main characters. The male lead of the drama used to be an idol form a small company which had gone bankrupt now. He was fortunate enough to have caught the casting agent's eyes and signed under the Sirus Entertainment.
Him and Loana, the two of them, out of the screen had a dynamic of a cat versus a dog. Never failed to make a small cough into a bickering. Maevie had only been in the set for a day. But her count of the two fighting had already overtaken the number of fingers she had.
They never failed to make the onlookers laugh with their antics.
'This is a great crew.'
Maevie thought to herself.
"Sister Maevie. Are you leaving now?" Loana asked as she saw her gathering her things.
"Yeah! I'm done for the day." Maevie answered.
The younger girl was cautious to approach her at the beginning, but by the end of the day, she had become a clingy puppy.
"I wish I could go back too. But I still have a few scenes with that stupid Tarzan."
"Wasn't his name Toryan?" Maevie chuckled.
"Toryan Tarzan same thing. He only behaves like a money."
"Loana!! You really did not leave a chance to curse me!"
Out of the blue, a young man jumped infront of the girl. It was the man playing the male lead.
"Which dog ear of yours heard me curse you?"
"Both. I heard it. You called me a monkey!" The man declared.
"Phuff!!"
"You!!!... Did you just call me a dog?" The man was enraged at being tricked.
"I didn't" Loana shook her head as she failed to control her laugh. "But you surely called yourself one."
"You!!!..."
Seeing the two, Maevie turned to Toryan's agent whom she was a bit familiar with as they came from the same company.
"Why did they become like this?"
"It's a long story." The agent sighed as she watched the immatureness of the two actors.
"Well… I'm done with my work for the day…" Maevie put her bad down and took a seat. "So… Got plenty of time."
The agent saw that and the seat next to hers as she prepared to narrate a long story.
"Well… It began with…."
And that's how Maevie made another friend.
