Chapter 21 - Abel's Mission

A few days had gone by. Maevie was brought back to the Cacia mansion after being discharged from the hospital. Her uncle and aunt had also returned from their business trip.

It was undoubted that she got some scoldings from them. But she could easily recognise the concern in their eyes and listen to their chide sincerely.

Big Brother Tyler was out of the house most of the time and so was Llyod. And Maevie had not seen Sienne since she 'came back', as the youngest Cacia was busy with her show.

The only exception was Abel, the third young master, who was the owner of an esports team. He usually hung out with his friends, but these days, he was at home. Doing nothing.

Mrs. Cacia was even enraged by his unproductive nature and often complained infront of Maevie. The youngest in return would just grumble a few words but never showed a sign of changing despite being criticized by his own mother.

Cause he had his own reasons. That was… To keep an eye on Maevie.

Ever since the adopted daughter of the Cacia family came back, Abel had been observing her. No. He had been keeping eyes on her ever since he went to visit her in the hospital.

He noticed it then, but after she came back, it became more prominent. Previously, the girl would complain about even the little scratch on her finger, saying that it would scar her what not.

She would act spoil infront of his mother, talk non stop about what she suffered. Her suffering being having to wait in line for coffee, or someone else buying the things she like, and what not.

All these, he hated listening to.

But ever since she came back, Abel noticed she became more… quiet. Ever since she stepped into the house after being discharged, he had not heard a single word of complain.

Considering her mentality, being locked up in the police station for three days should've been like a world ending grievance for Maevie.

'Forget Maevie. It'd had been soul breaking for me.' Abel commented to himself.

It was quite a harsh punishment. And she must've felt hopeless. According to her usual nature, she should've complained regarding this to his parents. Which would of course, get Llyod and himself punished. That was how it had always been in the Cacia family.

But it was so out of tune this time. Nothing was going as Abel predicted.

So. He could only come up with a reason.

"Maevie had changed. Maybe. The incidents this time have matured her a little. It's all for the better."

Abel overheard his father comforting his mother. But Abel would not be Abel if he did not doubt Maevie.

He doubted… No…

He was sure that Maevie, all these changes she was showing to them was just a façade. That she would turn back to her obnoxious nature soon.

So…. He gave a mission to himself. To catch her on act and expose her… Only then would he be able to sleep peacefully at night.

.

.

.

Unaware of her third brother's scheme, Maevie was in her room, stretching out her muscles. With the help of the system, she was all healed. Her body was better than she had ever been.

Maevie planned to focus on her acting career. And she believed she would excel in the field. After all… she had been acting in different worlds. Only this time, she would have to do so physically, with her own body.

So, the first step she decided to take up was to improve her body. Because she was in the showbiz, she previously had to mind her diet and became as thin as a prick to look good in front of the camera.

But after experiencing different worlds, Maevie knew that being fit was what mattered. And she could not accept the thought of her being a weak and pitiful girl waiting for someone else to help when she was in trouble. Not after she had been in a war…

She looked at the health status on the screen floating in front of her.

[STATUS

Name: MAEVIE OZ

Age: 21

Universe: EK1297BE

Strength: Level 4

Agility: Level 3

Intellectual: Level 8

Experience: Max

Skills:_ ]

Maevie did not need another third person to say that she was as weak as a chicken. She could she it in her status.

[Strength Enhancing Function (SEF) Activate]

Though this function, Maevie was brought into a room with many equipment. It was a gym. It enables her body to gain the experience and maximum benefit of strengthening in the shortest time. Since an hour here was a minute in the real world.

And if she was ever over exhausted, she did not need to worry. Since there was a recovery capsule amongst the gadgets. An hour of sleep in the capsule would heal any injury she attained and helps in strengthening her body.

Within a short interval of a week, Maevie had increased her strength from a level 4 to a solid level 7. She did not even waste her sleep and relearned all the skills she learned in the worlds she had been to, which included playing music, cooking, combats skills, and many more.

After a week of rest, Maevie was ready to begin her new journey to become a star in the Entertainment Industry. So, she called up Wander.

"Yo! Any new projects."

"…"

Wander was still not used to her being friendly to him.

"Yeah! A few actually…"

After comforting his little heart that it was okay, the agent finally responded to the eager young lady.

"Great! Tell me about it."

"I have a few scripts. We can choose one or two from them after considering…" 'Your acting skills'

Wander did not complete the sentence.

"Considering what?" Maevie asked through the line.

"Considering that there is also a few variety shows you could go to." Wander quickly covered up.

"Hmm… Okay. Come to my house. Bring the scripts. Let's discuss about them here."

"Okay! I'll be there by 3"

"Okay then. See you soon."

"See yah!"

Only after the screen showed that the person had hung up did the man relax. Ever since Maevie became more… approachable, in a sense… Wander had become even more caucious about what he say to the girl. Before, she was like a puppy that would growl when she was about to snap.

But ever since she had gotten into the accident, Wander feared she had become a smiling tiger. He could no longer predict when she would lose her temper. Or if she ever would…
