"So… You withdrew from the idol show…" Llyod spoke up with a questioning tone.
He felt the need to break the chilling icy thick silence in the room. It maybe because neither Llyod nor Abel had ever had a normal conversation, without anger or demands, with this sister of theirs.
The usually calm and scheming second young master could not think of anything he can talk about with Maevie which he could consider a safe zone. So… He picked the first thing that came to his mind.
Her career…
"Yes. I… The show is not suitable for me. So… I thought of taking the advantage of the injury to withdraw from the competition without losing face."
Maevie to felt much more ease to talk about work with Llyod than talking about whether she had lunch or not.
"What's your next project?"
"Wander had cleared up my schedule before because of the show. So… I'd bee free for now. I'd think of what to take up while I'm recovering."
Abel listened to the two while turning the red apple for the nth time. If any other person, a stranger, came into the room and heard their conversation, the person would never see them as a brother and sister.
They looked more like a boss and subordinate discussing the future development of their company.
But the third young master knew he had no right to complain. After all he had not made any contribution to the conversation. He still had not recovered from what he had seen in the videos. He was still yet to process his thought.
He still felt that he could not forgive Maevie for what she did and act like nothing had happened, care for her. Yet. He felt guilty. At the back of his mind, he was questioning himself if he had ever tried to understand this girl ever.
Throughout the whole visit, Abel did not utter even a single word. The usually talkative young master made a stone face till the moment they entered their car.
But as soon as he settled on his seat, he gave a look at his twin before letting out a scoff. Llyod, who was putting on his seat belt paused.
"What?"
He could not guess what he was being sneered at by his twin out of the blue.
Abel smirked with a hint of mockery.
"Really? I would have thought that you are her career counselor of I was a stranger. That what you talk about with a patient in the hospital?"
"If you have anything against it then why didn't you say a word? Mom would be proud of you if you were a tenth as quite as you were in there when she comes back."
"I have nothing to say to her." Abel turned away, folding his arms on his chest.
"Whatever…"
Llyod said under his breath as he started the car. He had too much in his head to continue this meaning less bickering with his twin.

Meanwhile, back in the hospital, Maevie was admiring the two fist size lemon pies. She was unable to make up her mind. Whether she should kept them as a memory or just devour them.
After a long debate with herself in her mind, she finally made her decision.
Maevie opened the camera in her phone and clicked multiple pictures. Ones in the box, some on the box, some on her palm, with different angles…
Anyone seeing her actions could say that she treasured the gift.
Maevie was having a hard time containing her happiness. If the pie had been brought by someone else. Say Nora or Wander, she would be delighted. But she would not have felt the escalating joy and contentment that she was feeling at the moment.
It was because the box of desert came from her brothers that she felt that her heart was jumping with joy and could not hide her smile. She took a bite and….
"Sweet…."
She swung her two feet that were hanging down the bed.

[Doubled the joy of New Year]
[Am I the only one who's curious about how serious her injuries are for her to quit the show?]
[Maevie Oz… This is a lesson for you… Don't aim for something you don't have the ability to attend… Don't covert over something you don't deserve…]
[Best gift of the New Year]
[Finally celebrating New Year with peace of mind]
The viewers of the show were celebrating. Maevie's hater was having the time of their life of this whole week. But the one to celebrate most were the fans of the Super Idol, Luther Zeev Greyson.
They made so much noise that it reached the owner of the house.
Somewhere…. In a dance studio, a figure was moving to along with music. As though missing a single beat was a crime, he caught all of them. Any onlookers would be mesmerized by the rituals the person was performing in front of the mirrored walls of the studio. And as the music slowed down, his body too slowed down… swaying from left to right as he took his controlled steps… walking up to the mirror as though he was predator… Ready to strike his prey… Only for him to pause like a statue as the music ends.
Luther stared into his own reflection for a few seconds. His breaths were heavy from all those movement he had been doing. Then he relaxed, taking in a long deep breath, before he went to the corner o he studio where the small couch was and sat down.
After taking a sip of water, he stared at the dazzling view of the city lights through the glass wall of the skyscraper. His mind rewind back to the back to when his agent came about an hour ago…
"You're finally free, Luther. Your tail has left the show…"
