Elizabeth stood in the faint light of the cabin, her thin demeanor forming a shaky shadow on the wall. Her hands trembled as she grabbed the edge of the table, her eyes shifting between Scarlett and Nathan. "You shouldn't have come here," Elizabeth repeated, her voice rough but determined.
"We are sorry for coming like this, unannounced. We did not have a choice," Scarlett said.
She took a careful step forward, her hands raised to show she meant no harm.
"Elizabeth, we know what happened to you. We know why you disappeared. But if we're going to stop them, we need your help."
Elizabeth let out a dry and bitter laugh. "Stop them? You don't understand what you're up against. Richard West and Victor Grayson—they're not just men. They're powerful forces. You don't just bring down people like that. You survive them if you're lucky."
Nathan stepped closer, his jaw tight.
