All of the kids got up and started heading back to their rooms. Alexander and Gunther were talking about their abilities and other nonsense that the other members of the group could care less about.
Eram was the last to get up to being lost in thought. Yuki noticed him staring off into space and snapped it out of him by throwing what seemed to be a piece of food at him, while pointing at the group that was leaving.
As soon as the door was shut Eram got stiff and looked around similar to what Michael and Ryker were doing.
"What is you guys' problem, ever since we woke up y'all have been on edge like a demon is lurking around the corner?"
Gunther asked getting bothered by his new friends' paranoia.
Eram loosened up after seeing that no one was there and gave a curt response.
" Nothing just wanted to make sure we were safe."
Alexander looked at him like he was disabled.
"Do you think anyone can take me on?"
He said while leading the group back to his dorm with confidence.
Alexander walked down the hall with a smile that was only matched by his ego. Ryker looked at him with amazement.
' I literally could beat him in under a minute where does he even get this confidence?'
He stared at him and for a moment he forgot about the monster in his mind.
Once Eram got to the room he felt relief knowing he was safe in the confines of his room. Ge looked over at Michael who was sighing in relief thinking the same thing. Alexander was rushing over to a cabinet in the corner of the room that held board games and card games of all kinds.
" In order for us to be actual friends, not just teammates lets play a game. So do you guys want to play this game or this one."
He held up two different board games grinning.
Eram responded with a laugh
" What the hell, why not. Michael you down with this one."
He pointed at the one on the left and Michael laughed and agreed.
Michael sat down and took the board game from Alexander and Eram started to talk about the events that happened later in the day.
"We were almost killed. They said it was a test but I felt so powerless."
Alexander cut him off and started to talk with a serious look on his face.
"You signed up for the most dangerous career and thought you didn't have the chance at dying. You see I remember what happened I wasn't knocked out completely. I barely remained conscious and I learned some things about you both. Eram I don't know what happened to you in the end but up until that point you fought for yourself only relying on yourself."
He then looked at Michael with a serious look.
" You did the complete opposite and got hurt because of it. You should've tried to grab one of those two and retreated and got the principal. I don't know what was going threw your head, but it was obviously holding you back."
Michael said back realizing his mistake.
"Sorry…"
Alexander sighed and continued.
"Don't apologize to me, do better. My ability allows me to make certain creatures submit to me under certain conditions but the cost is I'm way weaker in combat. I have to know when to retreat or lose everything, my parents had similar abilities so they taught me from a young age.
He rubbed his eyes then pulled the hair out of his face.
You will be explorers who expect to die, expect to lose, and fight harder to avoid that. Anyways let's play our game."
The group kept talking and enjoying each other's company for the rest of the night till about 10 p.m. and decided it was time to fall asleep. Eram had the bed closest to the door followed by Alexander then Michael. The room was a wonderful blend of carpet and warmth. It had a fireplace that turned on right when they lay down keeping the cold thoughts at bay.

Ryker's room.
"Guys, I'm sorry for how I acted."
Ryker looked at his two roommates.
Gunther sighed.
"No big deal, just do your best to not kill us all."
Gunther laughed a little bit. Ren talked back with a weak smile.
"It's no big deal we all know you had a hard life just know we're all here for you,"
Ryker looked at his one roommate and one friend
" Oh well."
He smiled and decided not to tell his roommates about how he failed them earlier, but just to tough it out and be the team leader they deserved.
He lay down in his bed and continued.
" How do these abilities work, it's Like magic. I haven't ever thought about it but now that I'm here I'm seeing so many weird things that just don't make sense."
"Yeah, I don't have an answer to that,"
Gunther said and Ren nodded in agreement.
"I bet we'll learn something tomorrow. Night you guys I'm tired as hell so I'm heading to bed."
Ryker decided it was time for him to head to bed.
Gunther and Ren both said the same thing,
"Yeah same, Night guys."
They all laid down and enjoyed the surprise of the automatic fireplace as well and fell asleep at a nice. 8 p.m. Their room was just as nice as Eram's though they enjoyed it more because Ryker and Ren came from places that had less than ideal living situations.

The Girl's room same time.
"Oh my gosh, Those three were so moody today. It was getting on my nerves and made it hard for me to eat!"
Kalla looked more frustrated with every word she spoke.
Kalla and the other girls agreed with her with Lila being the first to speak out.
" I know right!"
She looked around and continued.
" Like Ughh."
Yuki spoke up to raise some concerns.
"They acted weird but I noticed something weird as well."
She caught the group's attention and continued.
"I have an ability that allows me to sense those stronger than me and those weaker than me. As soon as the door shut they all vanished and I couldn't sense them I didn't say anything because I thought it was normal."
She stood up and started exaggerating.
"What was weird though was I could still sense the other students when they all vanished in the hallways I thought maybe they were pretending or something but they were acting strange. You know what I mean?"
Taylor spoke up
"Yeah Ryker was acting weird, but you know what would solve this problem? Talking about what happened instead of bottling up their feelings and trying to move on like nothing happened."
All the other girls looked at her like she was a genius and spoke out.
"Right! Even Yuki agreed with that sentiment.
"You want to know what I bet."
Taylor groaned.
"They did something stupid and got in a lot of trouble. That would explain why they looked at Cedric with so much hate."
All the girls thought that was a genius explanation. They thought about how they were all amazing detectives.
Lila said something that sparked even more conversation.
"I bet Ryker or Eram got into a massive fight with Seraphina and they were the instigators and Cedric just happened to catch them and scolded them."
All the girls once again applauded how smart and amazing they were to get to that conclusion not knowing how close yet so far they were. They then looked around the room to get comfortable and noticed the board and card games like Alexander and decided to check it out.
They all picked out one of the games and played it talking getting closer to each other and enjoying the time spent. Once they were done playing and gossiping about their past friends, teachers, and families they headed to bed at a staggering 1 A.M.

Cedric's office 1 A.M.
"Do we have all of the classes ready for tomorrow?"
He said to Seraphina who was in his office.
She looked back with a robotic expression.
" All rooms are prepared for each of the 24,165 1st year students. I personally oversaw the rooms being set up."
Cedric smiled and continued.
"Do we have a special training for the three? I owe them for traumatizing them."
Another Taylor walked out from the shadows.
"Of course, we will train them to the best of our abilities."
"Good I don't want them to die to the invaders, it would greatly upset me"
When he said invaders his face twisted into that of a furious creature that words couldn't even describe only to switch back a second later.
"Let's continue our hard work i would like it if we can keep more of the students alive when the fourth-year students pass. I created that island deeper in the rings so that they could learn more. Primordus did a good job getting us the fingers, I wonder if he still goes by that name he changes it every so often."
