Lin and I were assigned to assist Lis in the infirmary. I missed Lux but he would sneak visits in whenever the day got slow.
On our first day, Lin and I both dressed in clean and simple dresses. They reached just below our knees are were mostly white.
Lin had been nervous to start a job but we both knew it was inevitable. When Lis offered us training to be healers I agreed without thinking.
Lis let us shadow her on that first day. We only got to see one patient, a middle-aged striped Licnine who'd turned his ankle.
We watched Lis prod it and ask questions. Then we watched as her hands glowed slightly, though she didn't seem to notice. The man left with a set of crutches and orders to stay off his feet.
"You're amazing!" Lin chirped. She had completely forgotten about being nervous. Now she fluttered around Lis like an excited hummingbird.
"It's nothing," Lis shrugged, "Just a healing helping hand. You'll pick it up in no time."
