We buried them near the sea. The two who died on the raid for food both were buried near the roots of trees as they were emerald Licnine. They would return to their home in the tree tops through the tree roots.
We had wrapped both of them in green shrouds and all of us stood shivering to say our last good bye. Many people sobbed and one woman was on her knees in the very front. I could only assume she was a mother or sister.
As we all worked together to pile dirt on top of the graves someone shouted. We turned around and saw a rainbow spanning high up into the sky.
"They have returned safely to the goddess's arms," Lux announced, "They have returned home."
The sobbing ceased as we all took in the marvelous rainbow. It stayed for a few more minutes shining brightly. I could imagine the goddess telling us that everything was going to be okay.
