Tykin did not keep her word to us. Only half a day later Yuni called my family to see her in her dwelling.
I was surprised to find it was no bigger than ours or any other person's. Yuni clearly was as selfless as she presented herself to be. However I stopped my pondering of her virtue when I saw her face.
She wasn't pleased with me.
"Iz, please sit," She gestured to a chair near a small table.
Mum stood behind me, one supportive hand on my back.
"Yuni, I am truly sorry my daughter went wandering, but really, don't you think she's been punished enough," I felt Mum shudder with anger.
She had been so angry when she'd heard where I had been and what I had been doing.
"You sent a child to do work that I shudder to think about. My family came because we were promised safety and if this is what you are offering-"
Yuni cut her off by raising a hand.
