Chapter 30 - That door

Once the others finished getting ready, Sion glanced at them and he grabbed his bag, before exhaling, hoping that whatever he does find, does not try to kill him or any of the others because if that does happen, it would be on him and carrying the death of someone on his shoulder, was not something he was quite ready for as yet.

Nethaniel came up beside him and glanced at him, seeing that he was still lost in his thoughts and his eyes narrowed, then he thumped him behind his head, causing Sion's head to jerk forward a bit, snapping him out of his thoughts.

Sion looked at him surprised and Nethaniel just shrugged and began walking, while Sion stared at him completely baffled, for he had no idea how someone, could possibly be like Nethaniel.

Upon seeing his reaction, Sano and the others chuckled then patted him on his shoulder as they began following Nethaniel and Sion took a deep breath to calm his nerves, before he joined them as well, for they had no time to waste.

They all fell into line, as they walked down the corridor, seeing some of the same things, they had seen in the previous ones, knowing that the skeletons, which were there, was the doing of the creature, wherever in the dungeon it was.

Sion and the others, hoped that when it does show up, their plan to kill it will work, for if it did not, they would be stuck in the dungeon for who knows how long, with the creature alive, they would remain stuck and death's door would be a lot more open to them.

However, with the creature, dead they would all be able to do whatever they pleased within the dungeon, even leave without a problem.

As they walked and talked about what they need to do, they came to an unexpected surprise a room, filled with many glass like doors on the walls, each with a runic mark.

Upon seeing that, Sion exhaled deeply. Getting to the next and final floor got a lot harder than before, for each glass meant something different, and none except one led to somewhere else, the final part of the dungeon, which they had no idea of which it was.

They looked around and Sion let out a sigh as he closed his eyes and focused on his surroundings, using his ability spatial awareness.

While using it, Nethaniel glanced at him but did not say anything and Sion began feeling the different types of energy coming off of the door, each runic mark meant danger and death, most with beasts that were not of the common.

He opened his eyes a few minutes later, as the runic marks on the glasses began glowing and his eyes narrowed, one among them was the real door, but which he had no idea, for he had just realized, that even on the last floor, there would be what one would call a dungeon boss.

"What's the matter?" Nethaniel asked.

"We are in trouble, that is what, every dungeon has a boss right? Or at least the ones that hold something very precious at the end of the final floor, correct?" He asked and Nethaniel glanced at him.

"Yes, but this dungeon is not supposed to have one of those, are you implying there is a dungeon boss?" He asked and Sion looked at one door among the glasses, which had a strong aura coming from behind it.

"Yes, that is exactly what I am saying," He responded as he looked at him and the others exchanged glances.

"That... Is not good," Vicana added and they all nodded in agreement with him, for a boss was hard to defeat even for some of the guild masters.

"Can we defeat one?" Lilian asked and Nethaniel glanced at her.

"Maybe Nethaniel can, he has a lot more chances against it than we do, half of us only lately started being adventurers, but we do not have much of a choice," Ash added and Sion glanced at them, knowing they were right, they were all now in a pinch.

Just as they were about to make a decision, one of the doors opened and screams came out of it as a few other adventurers ran out of it frantically, some carrying their injured teammates and their eyes widened, as the door closed back behind them.

"What the hell..." Sano mumbled and Sion's eyes narrowed when he noticed the similar slime on one of them.

"Help us, please!" A female among the other group called out and Lilian rushed forward as they placed their injured teammates on the floor.

"My god, what happened?" She asked as she knelt down before their bleeding bodies and the others, within the group, looked worried, some even scared.

"What happened?" Sion asked.

"A creature, a monster of some kind, came out of nowhere in the dark, as we were in one of the other floors, it killed a few people from another group in front of it, it attacked us in the dark, it was large with green scales and blue lining, we could not get a good look at it," One of them responded, frantically.

Sion and Nethaniel exchanged glances after hearing that and Sion sighed as he handed the frantic one some water for him to clam down.

The guy thanked him and took the water, while Lilian began healing the injured among their groups.

"This dungeon is one from the pits of hell..." One of them mumbled and Sion's eyes narrowed.

"Sion, choose the door," Nethaniel said and him and he looked at him a bit surprised, as did the others and Sion sighed.

"The one surrounded by the other three, the one in the center, with the runic mark of the girl and a cross on her body," Sion replied as he pointed to it, the door that gave off a very heavy aura.

"Good, guys get ready, we are entering now, no more wasting time that we may not have," Nethaniel said and they nodded.

"You guys can join us if you want. Make a choice. You are all sitting ducks here alone and scared, and there is a much higher chance of getting targeted. That or risk it with us. What is your choice?" Sion asked.

"We are coming," The leader of the group said as he stood up and the others nodded as Lilian finished healing their injured teammates.

The other group joined Sion and the others as they grabbed their things and headed toward the door Sion had chosen.
