Chapter 36 - Bit skeptic

The others stared in awe as the shackles were shattered and a large burst of energy came from Zeena as she was finally released and her eyes glowed bright blue and red as she slowly came down to her feet, her silk gown fluttering around her.

Sion opened his eyes, which were still glowing and she looked up at him as he brought forth his right hand to her and she took it, grasping his helping hand tightly as he pulled her up from the ground and she met his gaze.

Zeena smiled and hugged him, causing his eyes to widened, as well as those around him, for they were not expecting that.

He glanced at her as her cheeks flushed a bit and she buried her face into the side on his neck, which made him tense a bit and his eyes narrowed as he looked at her, wondering if she was being genuine or if she was trying to pull something else on them.

He glanced at the others, who were just staring a bit dumbfounded after they were healed by the healers among them.

Nethaniel however, was more composed as he took in the sight before his eyes, skeptically, just like Sion, even he wondered if she had ulterior motives.

So far, they knew she had been honest with them, but now that she was released, they could not be sure if she was just using them to get out now or she was still being genuine.

Sion's gaze shifted between her and Nethaniel who just gave him a small nod, which indicated, they should just observe for the time being and not be too quick to judge, for that may do worse for them than good, given that they did not know her full truth as yet either.

He sighed and patted her on the back and his eyes widened when he felt a small bolt of energy shot through his arm and he began seeing glimpses of what looked like memories but not his and he held her tighter as he tried to focus on what he was seeing exactly.

Within those glimpses, he heard the screams of people, dead bodies lying around them, with her standing tall, looking a bit different, as blood dripped down her right arms and her eyes were glowing piercing red.

Upon seeing that, Sion's eyes narrowed, wondering what she had done in her past and what made her the way she currently was, but as he stopped seeing them he looked down at her.

"Are you alright?" He asked and she nodded then pulled away from him and looked up at him with a small smile.

"Yeah, I am fine, thank you, for what you have done for me today Sion, I will forever be i all of you, dept, I have been locked up in here for far too long, I had forgotten what someone's warmth felt like, which is why I hugged you," She responded and he smiled at her a bit.

"I do not understand your situation so I will not pretend like I do, that would not be fair but, I do know how you feel, it is a soothing thought, to be free," He said and he nodded.

The others exchanged glances, not knowing what to make of the situation, but just like Sion, they intended to keep their promise, which was to get her out of the dungeon alongside them and once they were safe, only then ask questions.

"Yeah, you are right, it really is a nice thought, one that I have longed for, for a very long time and thanks to all of you, I will be able to be free again, but only until we get out of this place," She replied and he nodded, knowing she was right.

He looked at the vault like royal chamber behind her and she followed his gaze to it and her eyes narrowed then she chuckled as her eyes began glowing and a key from around the nearby area, within the debris from the aftermath of the fight, appeared in her hand.

The others looked at her then at the key and she smirked, before glancing at Sion and she approached the chamber, placing the key where it belonged, before turning it, causing a loud bang to be echoed throughout the room, something none of them were expecting.

The door began glowing as many runic marks appeared on it, each with a different colour and each representd something else.

She pressed against the marks, in a pattern as they stood there looking at what she was doing seriously but none of them moved or said another word, they just waited to see what would happen next and whether or not the door would actually open.

When Zeena finally stopped, she stepped back as many lines appeared on the door, each connecting to the other like a star and Sion's eyes narrowed, when a large mark of a star and the moon appeared in the very center of it, but he said nothing, only waited and watched.

The door glowed bright before it began opening by itself in a very slow motuon, which made Sion's brows twitched in irritation.

When it was finally open a wave of energy came out from it, as well as a rumble and they all exchanged glances wondering whether or not it was a good idea to even enter in the first place.

"Is this a good idea?" Ash asked.

"I am with him, what if this is some sort of trap, you guys know how dungeons are and right now we cannot risk it, am I being a coward?" Lilian asked and Sion chuckled.

"No, you are not Lilian, you are just worried we might get stuck her as well as the lives of your teammates, it is understandable," Sion said to her and she smiled a bit, as he patted her on the back.

"Then, I will go first and you guys follow me, that will reassure you at least," Zena said as she walked in and Sion nodded then followed her inside and the rest of them followed him.

Upon entering, their eyes widened, as they were met with almost an entire chamber of treasure and many different things, shining before their eyes.
