Chapter 32 - Zena

No one moved from their spots, everyone just stared at the scene before them in nothing but pure shock, even Sion was frozen in his spot when she spoke to him, he could not believe what he was seeing, realizing the voice that he had heard earlier, was not from his imagination.

She smirked as she saw the look on their faces, but he gaze was fixed on Sion, who was lost in his own thoughts, wondering what was happening and if she was even someone they could trust.

Either way, Sion was not about to let his guard down around her, not yet, not until he knows for sure she was not a threat to them and they were not in danger, after all they had not encountered the boss as yet and they could not afford to let their guards down.

Despite all of his logical thoughts, Sion could not help but wonder how she knew of him or why she was waiting on him when he had never met or seen her before then, it made the situation a lot more complicated, then it already was at the time.

He knew he had to get to the bottom of it all without wasting time and without her getting into his head.

Sion took a step towards her and the others exchanged glances, wondering what he was doing, but none of them interrupted him, they just waited to see what would happen next, for everything within the dungeon had become unpredictable and that was not in their favor.

The woman looked at Sion as he got closer to her and she leaned in a bit as she looked down at him, with her head tilted a little to the side, her gaze intense as she tracked his every move.

The woman had long, silky blonde hair with a hint of color. She wore a long, elegant silk dress in black and gold, which complemented her shimmering gold eyes. Her slim yet curvy figure was accentuated by the dress, highlighting her form and slightly larger bust.

The others stared at her a bit, she was a beauty, there was no denying that, however they had to be careful, they could not risk their own safety for some seemingly innocent, when that could not be the case.

"Who are you?" Sion asked and her eyes narrowed.

"Me? My name is Zena, I am a former dungeon master as well as something more, something much more dangerous," She responded with an undertone that sounded almost threatening to most of their ears, but Sion did not mind, he was only curious about her existence.

However, what caught everyone's attention was her mention of being a dungeon master, yet being sealed and chained up in one, her words confused them even more than they already were and that was not a good thing.

"Zena, if you are a dungeon master as you just told us, then why are you sealed away in this dungeon?" He asked her and her eyes widened a bit as she stared at him, then lowered her gaze and his brows furrowed at her reaction.

"What happened?" He asked.

"This is my punishment for becoming something I was not meant to be, sooner or later you will understand, Sion, after all you are similar to me, you and I have a lot in common, except I am something much more dangerous, a being sealed away for many reasons, but I am not evil, however," She responded.

He titled his head a bit as he listened to her words, curious about what she meant by he was similar to her, but he decided to ask that later, for at the time it was not important, he had to decide whether he could trust her or not, for one wrong decision would bring them all their deaths.

"I was betrayed, then this is my punishment for something that happened many many years ago, but you see, my punishment has come to an end, but no one came to free me," She added with her gaze slightly lowered as her eyes narrowed.

Sion could feel the tension and ager, disappointment, mixed with many other emotions radiating off of her and he sighed, so far, he could tell that she did not have any ill intentions towards them and it also confirmed another thing.

The main treasure of the dungeon, which the boss, the creature was guarding, was not only the treasures in that chamber behind her, it was in fact her, Zena.

"I understand, you are what its guarding isn't it? The only way it would not be here is if whoever was supposed to free you after your punishment was completed come here but, they did not come, why is that?" Sion asked and she looked up at him.

"I do not know, they are wither dead, forgotten or simply believed I am better of locked away," She responded and Sion's eyes narrowed as he got closer to her.

She looked at him as he reached right hand up, his fingers tracing the edge of the shackles that bind her and the others exchanged glances upon seeing that.

"How do I free you?" He asked and her eyes widened as she looked up at him, wondering if he was serious or not.

The others looked at him in shock wondering if he was serious when he barely knew her, but Sion was willing to take a chance this time.

"Are you serious?" Lilian asked and Sion glanced at her then nodded and they all exchanged glances.

"The only way to free me is to break the binding spell on the shackles, but trying to do that will alert the creature, these shackles suppress my ability," She explained to him and his eyes narrowed as he was thinking over a few things, though he already knew what he needed to do.

"Then, we will have to defeat it first then free you," He said as he tugged the shackles.

Their eyes widened as they heard a loud hissing sound and thumbling within the dungeon, they knew they had gotten its attention now.

"Prepare for a fight," Sion said as his eyes narrowed, while glowing and the others were on their guard, as Zena stared at Sion in surprise, while the creature burst its way into the last floor of the dungeon.
