Chapter 35 - Shackles free

The room was covered in debris and smoke, the dust from the ground, filling the air around them after the explosion, the others coughed as they closed their eyes, not knowing if the creature was still alive or dead, for they could not see anything at the time, any sort of sound they got, was small groans from the others, who had fallen back, including the other team they had brought with them.

Soon, the room began clearly up and the others looked around exchanging glances with each other, wondering of Sion and Nethaniel were okay or not, after what had happened.

Lilian called out both of their names, as the area was clearing up, but to er surprise, she got no response and began getting a little worried.

"Sion!" She called out when she heard coughing.

They looked in one direction of the floor and saw Nethaniel helping Sion to his feet and they sighed in relief, upon seeing that the two of them were fine, for they had all gotten worried for a second, thinking something may have happened to the two of them.

"I am fine, Lilian," He said as he looked up at her with a small smile and she exhaled deeply, pleased that he was not injured.

She approached them and saw Sion had a few bruises and scratches and she exhaled deeply as her eyes began glowing green and a similar colour hue, spread across both of their bodies.

While she began healing them, the other team's healer, began healing the others, helping her since they did nothing during the fight, because they simply lacked the fighting prowess to do so and they knew that very well, even though they did not like it one bit.

Sion glanced at them as they were healing the others and at the same time, Vicana took down his earth barrier and looked at Sion with a sigh as his right arm was bleeding.

"Lilian, I am fine now. Thank you. Take a look at Vicana," he said to her. She glanced at him skeptically and reluctantly pulled away from them. She nodded then looked at Vicana, before going to heal him, since she did not want anything to happen to any of her teammates.

While she was healing him, Sion thanked Nethaniel before standing up straight and looking at Zena.

His eyes narrowed, as she raised her head to meet his gaze and the others exchanged glances, as they looked between the two of them, wondering what was going on and whether or not they should really release her or not.

At the same time, Aina took her seat by his neck once again he looked at her, his eyes narrowing as he remembered the contribution she made to the fight, he knew there was more to her as well and despite having a lot of questions, he knew he had to hall it off until they were in a more private space.

"Will you... Keep your promise to me, Sion?" Zena asked as she looked at him with a small smile and he approached her.

"I made a promise to you, I intend to honor it," He responded and she smiled at that, pleased that he was not going to go back on his words.

"How do we get the shackles off? There are not keys around here," Sano added and Ash nodded in agreement with him.

"If your spiritual energy is strong enough, you will be able to break the chain," Zena said, looking directly into Sion's eyes and his eyes widened as he began seeing flashes of her memories within his mind.

His brows furrowed as he looked at her and when she realized what was happening, she quickly looked away, breaking the contact and he stopped seeing them, but it left him wondering about what more she was than the being in front of them.

"You are quite the mystery aren't you?" He asked as he placed one of his hands on the shackle and the others looked at him.

"Will you be able to channel your spiritual energy?" Nethaniel asked.

"Supposed to or at least I will try," He responded and Nethaniel nodded, then stood back.

Zena looked at Sion as his eyes and body began glowing purple mixed with a red hue and her eyes widened slightly as she saw what looked like an eye within his energy, but she said nothing about it, she just looked at what he was doing, carefully.

The spiritual energy around him was strong, channeled from within his very being, causing some of the creatures within the other floors of the dungeon to sense it, due to which, none of them dared to try and enter the floor that they were on, it was as though the energy around him was a warning.

The others exchanged glances when they saw the effect it was having around them, leaving most of them surprised at the mere intensity of the energy he was giving off.

However, none of them interrupted him since they did not want to cause any sort of mishap even by mistake or they may get stuck within the dungeon much longer than they thought they would.

"Foucs on containtiny your energy while doing so or you may end up harming yourself instead of those around you, Sion, you are new to this, do not risk it, even if you may think you have it under control that is not how it works, let it guide you," Aina said to him an he nodded and tried to do as she instructed him to do.

'You are a lot stronger than you look Sion, how far you can go only time will tell and whether you will make it to be one among the others, a threat or an ally is up to you as well, I do hope otherwise' Zena thought as she looked at what he was doing.

After a few minutes, his energy spread across the shackles, causing them to shatter loudly and onto the floor.
