Chapter 28 - Intended

Sion kept his gaze on his hands, lost in his thoughts, about his newly awakened ability which was better than any other he had used before, it was one with unlimited potential, that much he could see already, but he did not know much about it and had to find a way to master that ability, for there was a higher chance of his survival within this world, if he did so.

Sion knew very well, that his new ability could take him to places, could make him stronger than he was before and help him with many other things within this world, to make a place for himself, one which he would not have to bow his head or cower in fear of dying in a fight or getting killed by a much stronger enemy.

He already had one on his back, the king who summoned him in the first place, as well as the very same one that he ran from, who was out for blood. For now, he had a chance, a great one, one which he intended to test its limits and see how far he could go.

He took a deep breath as his eyes glowed orange and slight purple as black mixed with orange flames formed around the tips of his fingers and he glanced at it, with his eyes narrowed, determined to push himself and become much stronger.

He turned around to look at the others, as his eyes returned to normal and the flames on the tip of his fingers disappeared as well. They exchanged glances, not knowing what to say, for what Sion had done, was not something that any of them were expecting.

Nethaniel stepped forward and the others glanced at him then at each other, as he approached Sion, with his eyes narrowed and Sion met his gaze without flinching.

Nethaniel could tell from a mile away that Sion was changing due to the experience he was gaining, which could be both a good and a bad thing. One thing was for sure: He had much more potential for a newbie than he had seen in a while.

His eyes glowed as he looked at Sion and his eyes widened slightly as he saw the changes his aura had, it was not much, despite being such a small amount, but he could tell that Sin was getting stronger, which was unusual yet understandable, he knew because of Mei, dungeons can bring out one's potential when they are constantly being faced with death and its example was right in front of him, Sion.

"How is it that your talent is not recorded within the guild? It is not on the guild card," Nethaniel said and Sion's eyes narrowed.

"It is not on there because it has only now partially awakened," He responded and Nethaniel''s eyes widened slightly as his brows furrowed.

He wondered how Sion was able to tame such a beast on his first try, with a beast-taming ability that had not been tested, one which was new and he had no experience with.

"You are saying this was your first time using or even trying that ability?" Nethaniel asked and Sion nodded as he looked around the area, to find the next door, to get to the next floor within the dungeon, for they could not afford to waste time.

He was aware of what Nethaniel, as well as the others, were thinking, he even surprised himself with it, but he was determined, which was why he was able to use the ability without much problem, he planned on explaining later, since at the time, they could not afford to waste time, due to the changing of space that would usually take place within the dungeon, unexpectedly.

"I am baffled, I will admit that because beast taming is one of the most complicated abilities, it is unpredictable and hard to handle yet you did it with determination and a first try, do not blame me for being curious," Nethaniel said and Sion scoffed then chuckled.

"I understand why you are asking, but we can continue this conversation later, we need to get out of this floor before the dungeon changes again which if I timed it correctly last time, will be in a few minutes," He replied.

"He is right, we have to get out of this floor before we get stuck here for a much longer period, also glad that you named your first beast after me," Ash said and Sion glanced at him.

"The name suited the beast, based on its ability and colour," Sion replied and Ash chuckled and then nodded.

"Alright, you guys are right, Sion we will talk more about you and your abilities later, for now, we should indeed get out of here," Nehtaniel added and the others looked at him then nodded.

Putting their discussion on hold for the time being, they all gathered together, having their weapons in their hands, as they ventured further into the floor that they were on.

As they walked, they bumped into many creatures, ones that wanted to do nothing more than kill, but due to the heat that was increasing, most were too tired to even move, for it was draining their energy out of them, which could kill anyone within mere minutes.

The time of the shift within the dungeon was nearing, due to which the heat within that floor got a lot worse, Sion and the others could feel it, but they knew they could not stop or they would be in trouble.

As they walked, they drank water from their bottles, until finally they found the door to leave that particular floor, to get to the next.

However, just then, the floor began vibrating and they knew it was time for the shift, they exchanged glances and ran towards the door as fast as they could, while the floor began moving in front of their eyes.

When they reached the door, they opened it and rushed in without thinking twice, the door slammed shut behind them, and they all panted while taking deep breaths and bracing against the wall, as they heard the loud thud from behind the door.

They were all tired and needed to rest, but at the same time, Sion began hearing a voice in his head.

"I can sense you, beast tamer, your ability is one of a kind indeed, I will be waiting for you at the very end of this dungeon," A female voice echoed in his head, a smooth and almost enticing tone.
