Chapter 29 - Plan

Upon hearing the female's voice echoing in his head, Sion glanced around to see if anyone else heard it as well, but seeing all of them relaxing, eating as well as drinking, in order to replenish their energy, he could tell that none of them heard the voice like he did and he lowered his gaze, lost in thought, wondering who or what it was that had just talked to him or whether or not he was just imagining things.

He exhaled deeply as he thought about what was said to him, knowing that dungeons could start playing tricks on one's mind, if you stay inside long enough and he sighed, as he ran his fingers through his hair, believing that he was just hearing things, due to being slightly tired and after coming out of a very heated place, he thought it was all just a trick of his mind, due to their current situation.

He took a deep breath, to calm his mind and forget about what the voice said to him and he drank his water, with his eyes narrowed as he mulled over the words, now that he paid attention, it was not a threat or anything like that, it was an invite, which meant, that whatever it was that spoke to him, it was real, not game or a trick of his mind, but even so it made him slightly uneasy.

After he finished drinking his water, he looked around, seeing how tired some of the others were, from both his group as well as the others that were with them and his eyes narrowed.

Sion knew quite well that there would be more enemies to face and that the one, who killed the adventurers that had come into the dungeon before them, had not shown itself as yet, whatever it was, he knew deep down once it senses them in there, it would become a problem for them to move on in the dungeon, as well as take breaks.

He pushed himself off of the wall and went over to where Nethaniel was standing, sipping his water, while being lost in his own thoughts, thinking back about everything that had happened to them so far.

Sion tapped his shoulder, causing him to snap out of it and he turned around to look at Sion and his eyes narrowed, as he wondered what Sion wanted with him.

"What is it?" Nethaniel asked as he looked at him.

"About the next floor, we do not know what kind of creature killed the ones that came in here long before us, once it senses us, I doubt we will be able to outrun it, the creature must have some sort of tracking ability, ones that predators used except, heighten, based on the slime, flames could kill it, from the inside," Sion said and Nethaniel raised his brows in slight surprise at the conclusion he came to.

"Ah, those would be the type of creatures with thick skin but vulnerable on the inside, its own abilities could end up killing it, you are right, well done," Nethaniel replied and Sion nodded.

"Are you already coming up with a plan to fight the creature?" Lilian asked as she stood beside Sano, Ash, and Vicana.

"Yes, we have to think about it because sooner or later, it will get in our way, it will sense us once we start getting to the end of the dungeon," Nethaniel responded and Sion nodded, knowing that so far, due to them being careful, the creature could not sense them as yet.

Based on everything he had seen so far, including the runic mark, ones which were meant for many different things, including sensing out alerts and tracking movements.

[Once the creatures appear there will be vibrations in the ground and it gives off the sound of a snake, a hiss, except it will be much louder than normal.]

Upon hearing what the system said his eyes narrowed, so far the knowledge he had of everything since he came into the world, was because of his system as well as those he had met on his way, most of all Mei and the others, which he was thankful for or else he would have been lost and he knew it.

"So you guys have a plan?" Vicana asked as he approached them.

"Yes, actually, thanks to Sion, we do have a plan. All we have to do now is keep moving forward and wait until the creature shows up. It will be slightly big, so we will all have to work together, the target will be inside of it," Nehtaniel responded, and they exchanged glances.

"You are sure this will work?" Sano asked.

"Yes, it will work because the inside of the creature is its weakness, creatures that give off chemicals or slimes like that, they fall under the category of those that can be set ablaze, from within, that is their weakness, not their outsides, you can only do the bare minimum damage that way," Nethaniel responded.

"Well, we understand everything that we need to do now, if anything happens, I will be there to heal you guys as well, at least we have a plan now, we just have to be prepared, also Sion, thank you for protecting me earlier, I could have gotten killed, but you were there," Lilian said to him with a smile.

"You are welcome, but there is no need to thank me, you are my teammate, it is only natural that I help," He replied then patted her head, before walking past her to get ready to enter the next floor.

As the others got ready to advance further into the dungeon, Sion pondered the details in his mind as he leaned against the wall. Yet, his thoughts kept returning to the mysterious female voice he had heard before. It led him to question what—or who—might be waiting for him at the end of the dungeon. He was certain that no ordinary girl would be found in such a place, which raised the question: was she truly ordinary, or something else entirely?
