The man turned to face him, his eyes narrowing in scrutiny. The instructor's gaze darted between them and he let out a chuckle followed with a dismissive shake of his head. He was familiar with Sion's opponent, who, despite his youth, was known to not go easy on anyone. His opponent firmly believed in equality, opportunity, and destiny, having shown it to many of his previous opponents repeatedly.
Little did they know, he was about to meet his match, for Sion was as much as determined since he needed jobs very much as well as money, desperately and he was not going to let any stuck-up nobleman get in her way.
He approached him and his eyes scanned him from top to bottom and he scowled wanting nothing more but to sucker punch the guy, but held back, since he needed to keep his emotions under control, especially if he was going to pass this part of the test, which is the most important part and its result will decide whether he passed or not.
The instructor handed him a blade and he collected it and glanced at it with his eyes narrowed.
[Scan initiated.]
[Chances of winning: Zero.]
[Blade result: Dull, weak, materials within are hollow, due to which it is not suitable for battle.]
[Scan completed.]
Sion's brows twitched in irritation when he heard the scan result of the blade from his system, but it was something to be expected, for the guild would not give a new candidate a good blade and waste their resources or materials when they did not even know whether or not that said candidate would pass the tests.
"Are you ready?" The instructor asked him and he glanced at him then at the noble and he sighed before looking at the blade in his hand.
"Yes, I am ready," He responded.
"Alright, since you are then we will get started, this is the last part so pay close attention, he will not go easy on you, good luck, you may need it," He said then left the room, closing the door behind him, which disappeared so that the test would go on without any disturbance.
"Based on the amount of mana you are giving off, you are not that strong, are you sure you want to continue this test?" The nobel asked him and he turned his attention to him and his eyes narrowed as he held up the blade in a defensive position, facing it towards him and his eyes narrowed, when he saw nothing but determination within Sion's gaze.
He knew exactly why he could only feel a certain amount of mana from him, it was because his cloaking skill was activated, hiding his true amount and potential from those around him, to avoid any sort of problems or unnecessary suspicions.
"I know, but I would rather try and fail than give up completely," He responded and the man's eyes narrowed as they glowed blue, while scanning him, he could see in his eyes that Sion's resolve was strong, but, at the same time, he also believed that he would not pass, for you needed more than just resolve to win in a fight, even he knew that.
"You are either very brave, confident or very stupid, but, very well, I will indulge you if that is your final decision, then I will not get in your way, but I will not go easy on you either miss, no matter what, if you think you have what it takes to be a part of this guild with that amount of mana, then you better prove it," He said to him as a certain amount of blue energy covered his blade.
He disappeared from in front of him, moving very fast and Sion's eyes widened slightly, he was not used to fighting, in fact, it was his first real fight, he never had to deal with anything remotely similar before, but despite that even he had skills, he was not useless even without certain magical abilities.
Sion's eyes narrowed as he looked around, trying to get even a glimpse of the guy, but he could not see him and that was not going to be in his favor, it was at his disadvantage, something he had to fix immediately for there was a timer.
The rulers of that particular test were within the time limit if the said candidate managed to block or attack him three times within the time limit, they would pass the test, he knew it may sound easy but it was not, for he was quite a skilled fighter, gifted with speed, which was going to be hard for many people to even manage to attack him even once, many would be at a disadvantage.
[Skill: Mana detection activated.]
His eyes glowed slightly blue as he closed his eyes and relaxed his body, as he forced on his current surroundings, keenly so that he could figure out, where the guy currently was and what his next move was going to be, though he knew it was not going to be easy, since he was far more experienced than he was, but he was not going to let that get to him, he was going to do what he needed to in order to pass.
He placed her complete focus on him and the room they were in, while the creature by his neck, looked carefully at what was going on, while keeping its presence hidden and its mouth shut, since it did not want to disturb him.
'Where is he? You are right in here, but where? In which part?' He wondered as he felt a jolt of electricity from beside him at one point, but then it disappeared and his brows furrowed, as he was now starting to understand how to use that particular ability.
Sion took a deep breath in order to focus, while gripping his sword's hilt tightly. Suddenly, a strong jolt of electricity surged from his right side. As he opened his eyes, the guy appeared before him and was about to launch an attack, but Sion quickly pivoted, causing his blade to clash with the noble's, blocking his attack, causing the swords to resound through the room, and the noble's eyes widened in surprise.
