He was caught completely off guard when he managed to block his attack. He stared at Sion with wide eyes in disbelief. Sion's eyes narrowed as he looked at him and pushed him back, with his blade by his side. He glanced at him as he finally snapped out of his temporary stunned moment. He looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze, wondering how Sion managed to do that.
He knew for a fact that someone with low mana, could hardly block his attack since they would not have the prowess needed to do it, yet here he was doing exactly the opposite of what he had believed, which left him slightly baffled at the unexpected turn of events.
One that he thought he had full control over, turns out he was wrong and the way he stood against him, was proving the points and he did not know how to feel about having his beliefs, tested in such an unexpected and unconventional way.
His eyes scanned Sion from up to down, wondering how he managed to block his attacks like that and he kept his gaze fixed on him, waiting for him to try anything else. Sion had already completed one condition to pass and he had every intention of completing the others as well, he was not going to give up easily.
"How did you manage to do that?" He asked him and Sion looked at him as he was holding the head of the blade tightly, his eyes fixed on the noble's limbs, just to make sure he was not trying to be sneaky with him, for he could not afford to waste his chances within the time limit that was given.
"I just focused, I am not useless like you think," Sion responded as his mind was working to come up with a faster plan to pass the final part of the test and within the time limit since time was starting to run out.
"I do not believe that is the only reason, you sensed me and blocked my attack, for someone with such a low level of mana, how did you manage to do that?" He asked as he lunged towards him, but Sion moved fast, appearing behind the noble and his eyes widened.
Before he could react, Sion spun around using the skills he knew at the time, his physical abilities, and kicked him in his side, sending him across the room, but he quickly regained his balance.
By then, Sion already did two things, his plan was to mix it with both types to make the three things that were needed, something which people according to him, with low mana could not do, he knew that was the best way at the time, to get himself a pass, to get what he needed.
His opponent's eyes narrowed, as his gaze was fixed on Sion and he counted what the young man had done so far within the test, his goal was to make it harder for him, to see if he could get the last point needed in order to earn the pass.
"You want to know? Even a person with low mana, is able to detect another once in close proximity, it is faint, but you can still feel a little bit of presence," Sion said to him, it was partially a lie, but it sounded very believable to his ears.
His eyes narrowed as he took in Sion's explanation, his mind going over all of the details and the way he had reacted to him earlier, it was very possible and made sense, but he knew he could not get distracted, for the first time in a very long time, a candidate had him baffled.
"Very well, you do have a point, I fifty percent or maybe just a little more believe your words, but let's see if you can actually pass this final piece or if you will fail, like many others like you with low mana level, who can do very few things with their abilities, being adventurers gives them, a few choices combat is not one, but maybe you are different, maybe you can make it, be more than just healer in a party or a cook or the bag carrier," The noble said as he looked at him with a firm gaze and her eyes narrowed.
Sion clenched his fist slightly, he did not like his arrogant words, it sounded to him as if he was looking down on those with limited access to mana and he wanted nothing more than to tech him a lesson, but had to hold back, he could not cause trouble, yet.
"Maybe you are right, who knows what will end up happening, but either way it will be worth it, now before you start judging and guessing the outcome I suggest we finish the last part of this," Sion replied and he smirked as he glanced at the time.
"You are right, I should not start guessing the outcome, after all, you are my latest baffling candidate, one who I cannot seem to understand in the slightest but, the end result of this will give its answers," He said and Sion nodded, trying his best to control himself as well as his anger, which was slowly building up inside of him, threatening to spill at any moment.
"Now, there are less than five minutes remaining to finish this test, let's see if you can do either one of the two with such short time remaining, make the best of it, little girl," The noble said as he disappeared, moving faster than before, while unleashing waves of energy in the form of slices as he moved.
Sion's eyes narrowed as he dodged them, it was getting harder to do either one of the requirements needed to make him pass, since he was not getting a chance to go near him and his time was running out at a fast rate.
Sion took a deep breath and his eyes glowed orange as his palms heated up, and he released a fireball that countered his attack, catching him off guard in a small explosion. It sent him crashing into the wall with a bang, and smoke filled the air around them.
