Chapter 17 - Official

While waiting, he heard the glitched voice of his system, and his eyes narrowed, wondering what was going on. But before he could check, he heard the word "fixed," and his brows furrowed, wondering whether or not it should be something to worry about. Due to the small glitch, he did not hear everything that was said by it, but he hoped that whatever it was would not cause any problems in the future.

He felt a strange energy coming from the orb as he was waiting. His eyes narrowed as he opened them and looked at the object intently and saw a faint blue ball of energy flowing within the center of the orb, something that could not be seen by the naked eyes. He smiled a bit at how beautiful it looked within the object, under the dim light of the room, to him it was truly a sight, not many could see.

The instructor saw him smiling and the woman's brows furrowed in confusion, wondering if he was smiling like that because he passed or if there was an entirely different reason for his reaction, but instead of actually asking him, she held her tongue and just focused on doing her job, like Sion, it was clear that the woman could not see the energy within the orb, nor sense it.

"You must have really wanted this job huh?" The instructor asked him and Sion snapped out of his reverie and turned to look at the woman, who glanced at him.

"Uh... Yes, I wanted it or more like need it, why?" He asked.

By the, Sion had realized the woman could not see the energy within the orb and decided not to mention anything about it at all, since he did not know why she could see it in the first place and most others could not, which confused him, but he chose not to bring up the topic and avoid being called crazy.

"I see, so you needed it, well that is understandable, you seem quite young, now moving on your own among the rest of the adults, I am not trying to discourage you here, but I will warn you, the job of an adventurer can be quite tough and very stressful, I have seen too many people fall apart because of it, because of the things their journey as one drags them into," She said.

Sion listened to her words intently, from the tone the woman was using, he could tell that she was speaking from personal experience and her eyes reflected she was genuine, so he decided to hear what more she had to say about such a line of work.

"What I am saying is be careful, it is something that puts your daily life at risk, something that can damage you completely and put you into a world in which you would not even be able to recognize yourself anymore, it can damage you and everything you believe in, crush your hopes of getting to the destination you want to reach, it is a serious line of work in which, most seek the thrill from not realizing the danger it poses, do you understand what I am saying young man?" She asked, as she looked at Sion.

"You are saying I take this path at my own risk, if it is what I continue to choose or if it is really my only option for now, I should be careful, if I am not it could damage who I am or once was?" Sion asked her and the instructor's eyes widened a bit.

"Yes, that is exactly what I am trying to tell you, will you heed my warning?" She asked and Sion tilted his head then he exhaled deeply before looking up at the woman.

"Yeah, I will heed your warning, you are my senior and you have more experience than I do, so I will listen to your warning and I will be careful, you have my word on that, thank you for the advice," He responded and the woman smiled a bit then nodded, quite pleased that Sion had listened to her words and did not take offense.

After a few minutes of waiting, the orb lit up and a guild member card popped out of it, floating in the air, before Sion's eyes and he took it, due to which it stopped glowing and she looked at the card, which had his necessary credentials.

It had a photo of himself, a few of his traits as well as the name of the guild, the kingdom it was issued in and its verification, the card could be used in any kingdom, which was another bonus for him, making things a little bit easier for him, so that she would not have to struggle.

"There, that is it, this holds your identity for the time being, you can go to any of the kingdoms using the bare card, you would not need any sort of paperwork or anything in order to enter, even in the most restricted of nations, it is a huge perk for the members within this guild," The instructor said to her and he nodded as he looked at it.

"Keep it safe, but even if you lose it, all you have to do is go to one of our many branches and explain to them as well as give them your information and once they verify it, they will be able to issue you another card," She added and Sion hummed.

"I understand, thank you for your help, I really appreciate it, with this I can finally find a few jobs and earn some money," Sion said as both of them exited the room and the door closed behind them.

"Yes, also the stronger you are the more money you make from your jobs or from the guild itself, if you are interested in a job now, go over to the board near the receptionist, there are many job offers there with reasonable amounts of pay, good luck," The woman replied.

"Thank you, I will have a look," Sion said as they entered the main lobby of the guild and many eyes were on him, the new member and the instructor returned to doing her job since there were many more candidates.

Sion ignored their stares and looked at the card, before placing it in his pocket and going over to the commissions board, to go through the requests there, but as he was doing so he heard some people calling out to the guild masters of the guild, which were four of them.

He turned around to see who they were and his eyes widened when he saw a familiar person among them, the woman who helped him, Mei.

As Mei caught a glimpse of Sion from afar, a smirk appeared on her lips. She navigated through the guild members to reach him, her long, silky blonde hair flowing behind her. Tall and slender with a curvaceous figure, she was slightly older than him. Her eyes narrowed into a playful, mischievous glint, many of the others stared in surprise, especially Sion.
