As Sion followed the woman to the adventurers guild, his eyes narrowed when he felt a piercing yet quite strong gaze on him. But he did not look back, for he had a task to complete, one that was his top priority at the time, one that was necessary for his survival. He knew he was either being followed or targeted by scammers, which tends to be a common thing for people who are new to a place.
Most are easily deceived, especially if they do not know what they are doing or have much information about their surroundings.
While walking, the woman showed him a few places, as well as explained a few things, since he saw that Sion was struggling a bit and the system helped as well, for it knew very well, that overflowing him with information was not going to help in any way, it was only going to make things a lot harder for him than it needed to be, it was going to take time for him to understand certain things, but it knew he gradually will.
Sion took mental notice of certain things that he saw while keeping up with the woman and learning a bit more about the city he was currently in.
He saw most things there were either made from magic or by natural handwork as well and many people did their daily activities relying on the magic that was provided to them by god, he knew it was not a healthy or good thing to fully depend on your talents, for one day it could get taken away, with no going back.
As they got closer to the adventurers' guild, he could see how big of a building it was, with many different types of people going in and out of it and many of the staff scattered around the place, doing their jobs, since on a daily basis the guild would usually be full and that day was no different either.
Just then, he heard a voice call out to him and he stopped in his tracks, as he glanced around but saw no one nearby him and he looked to the around as well as beside her, yet still could not find anything and his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"What's the matter?" The woman asked him, curiously, since she noticed that the young man had stopped following her.
"Nothing... Just taking a look around, enjoying the view, tell me, how do I get my recognition card from the adventurer's guild as identity proof as well as a job?" He asked as he kept on walking beside the woman, trying his best to ignore the nagging feeling he was getting at the time.
"That you will get the minute you pass the trial, it will categorize you as well as try and familiarize you with your own rank or class among the others within the guild, you could be an adventurer, a hunter of any of that sort, just giving an example," She responded to Sion's question and he nodded, understand quite easily what the woman was saying.
"Thank you for explaining, let's go," He said and the woman chucked then nodded, before following him to the adventurers' guild.
Upon entering the fancy yet mixed with medieval setting of the guild, many eyes turned towards them and Sion glanced at them completely ignoring their gaze, for he was only focused on certain things and that was to get a job as well as the rest of it.
"Come on, follow me, I will take you to the front desk and they will give you all the information that you need in order to pass the test, which will not be too long, since it is no different than a scan and do not focus on the others, many are like scums they will look down o you at first and doubt your every move," The woman said to him.
Sion nodded, for he knew that the woman's words were true as well, even he could tell that from afar due to how arrogant some of them looked among the others.
The woman took him to the front desk and the one who was working there at the time, smiled and greeted them.
"Ma'am, how can I help you?" The girl asked and the woman smiled at her before showing her a card and the girl nodded then glanced at Sion.
"Are you here to take the test as well?" She asked.
"Yes, I am," He responded and the girl nodded then handed Sion a slip with a number on it and he looked at it.
"That is your number there are many members here to take the test today, our guild does not accept too many new members so if you do get in you have to be lucky or your talent must be good and worthy, our guild is one at the top for a reason," The girl said.
"She is right, you won't be able to get in easily but if you do, then you will not have to worry, you will be able to gain a lot of money from it as well, the top guilds naturally earn a lot," The blonde woman added and Sipn glanced at her, with a pensive expression then he sighed.
"Thank you, I understand and I will try my best," He said and the woman nodded and smiled.
"My name is Mei, by the way, I forgot to introduce myself and we have been talking for a while now," She replied.
"Nice to meet you Mei, my name is Sion, thank you for your help, this means a lot," He said.
"Nice to meet you as well young man and you are welcome, I hope you do pass and once the test is finished, you can ask for my name and come find me after, you and I will chat, good luck," Mei said replied with a smile before walking away.
Sion smiled a bit before taking a seat with the other candidates to wait his turn to take the test, which he hoped he would pass since he needed to, in order to get money and start a proper life, as well as choose her path, which he knew was not going to be easy.
