As Sion walked down the road he chose, following the tracks of the carriages, he saw many types of creatures within the fields and plains that he passed by but none of them actually harmed him, even if some of them looked hostile.
At the time, he was a bit tired; it was late in the night, he had nothing to eat or drink ever since he came to this world and he was starving, but despite all of that, he was still determined and did not let anything deter him from the path, he needed to start his life and survive, for he had finally gotten a second chance.
His energy level was low and he needed to rest before he wore himself out, but he could not do that until he found himself a place to stay and get the necessary things he would need.
While walking, he felt as though something was following him and he kept on walking since he did not want to let whoever it was or whatever it was, know that he knew they were there since he had no idea what they could be capable of either and did not want to risk anything, for he did not have the energy to run at the time.
Sion kept on walking and just when he felt it was near him, he got startled and spun around with a kick and his eyes closed.
He heard a loud childlike shriek after he landed the kick and his eyes widened as he looked around but did not see where it came from or what he kicked, but he knew for sure he kicked something and the thought of it being a kid made him feel bad.
"What did I kick? Was it a child?" He asked as he looked around the area where he was currently.
"I did not sense the presence of a child, it could not be a child, be on your guard, certain creatures can be quite tricky, they could play with the fears in one's mind sometimes of creating illusions, believe me, it is not going to be pleasant if you get caught in one," The system explained and he exhaled deeply, for everything kept on getting more and more difficult for him.
"Great, this is just great, this day just keeps getting better, are the gods using me as their personal freaking entertainment?" He groaned annoyed, with gritted teeth and the system chuckled, which only managed to rub against his already grated nerves.
"This is not funny," He said.
"Of course, it is not funny, you just kicked me like I am some sort of ragdoll meant to be thrown around and discarded," A voice echoed around him and his brows shot up in surprise, it was the same voice that came from the shriek.
"What the hell is going on here...." He mumbled.
"Who is there?" He asked as she looked around when he heard a groan of annoyance and his brows twitched in irritation, his patience was wearing thin.
"Down... Down here, look down you crazy guy," The voice said and he looked down, to which his eyes widened a bit.
Before him, was no child, it was a creature, one that was a strangely dark and light blue colour, with gold and blue eyes, it looked like a small but very cute and rare lizard type of creature in his eyes.
He crouched down and peeked at it and the creature growled at him as it took a step back.
"What are you doing stranger? You just kicked me! Apologize!" It demanded with a huff, which only looked like a little kid throwing a tantrum because they did not get their favorite toy in his eyes and he bit back a laugh.
"W- What are you so amused about? This is not funny..." It stomped its cute little fit, which he noticed caused a small crack in the ground and his eyes narrowed.
'It talks and seems to have some sort of ability, what is this creature?' He wondered.
"Some creatures within this world have the ability to talk, while some can gain it through beast taming or depending on who their master might be, the creature could have gained it in either of those forms, the possibilities are basically endless when these things are concerned due to how unpredictable certain things are, I believe you can understand what I mean by that," The system commented and his brows furrowed.
He understood what it meant based on the few things he had learned and seen so far about his new home, but many were still unbelievable to his ears for before none of this he would have even dreamt had existed, though he knew with time he would come to accept and hopefully get used to it, for it was now his reality.
"Aww, I am sorry but you simply cannot blame me when you are sneaking around if you asked me, you need to be taught some manners despite how cute you may be," He said to the creature in a firm tone, as his eyes narrowed and it flinched a bit with a blush as he called it cute.
"You... You hit me, I am not sneaking around I am just not big and I am not cute," It protested with a huff and he chuckled with a slight shake of his head, he found its reaction quite amusing, to say the least, but he was also curious about its existence.
"If you say so, but I could tell you were following me, I will not hurt you, you have my word but I will need you to be honest with me," He said as he lifted it up in his arms and he kept on walking and its eyes widened in surprise.
"Fine, I will be honest with you, the energy that you gave off, it drew me in as I was passing by," It replied and his brows furrowed as he looked at it, but before he could even ask it anything else, a carriage passed by. He climbed up to his neck, concealing himself beneath his shirt collar. He cast a glance at it, then back at the carriage, which was filled with people—it was, in fact, a caravan.
