The car tires screeched as the Bugatti came to a stop. The bodyguards helped each one out from the car. The couple stood side by side with the man's hand secured around her waist. Then, the two made their way into the grand ballroom of Topazier five star Hotel.
Guests, both young and old couldn't help nut be drawn to the couple's radiance and powerful aura they exuded together. One could mistaken this couple as the limelight for the night.
The couple approached the true limelight of the night. With hearty smiles, the couple congratulated the celebrants on their 35 year wedding anniversary with a bunch of gifts.
"Awww, thank you dear." The 53 year old gorgeous woman doted on her daughter-in law.
Brooklyn's heart always felt warm whenever Gina doted on her like her very own daughter.
"Thank you my dear." The 56 year old man pat Felix's shoulder when he was congratulated.
Felix was busy conversing with his father as Brooklyn was with Gina. Amidst their lovely conversation that noone dared to interrupt, someone still did.
Valerie was the one that cleared her throat. That got everyone's attention in the ballroom. When everyone didn't dare to interrupt, she did. They wanted to see what Gina and Raymond would do when it was clear as day that they didn't want their conversation disturbed.
"I just wanted to congratulate you on your 35 years of marriage." She presented the bouquet of flowers with a satisfied grin on her face.
Her entourage behind her carried a couple of jewellery boxes, ranging from diamonds to whatever expensive stone she could afford.
Gina sighed as she pat Brooklyn's hand, comforting her.
"Thank you for the kind gesture Val." Gina directed the gift handlers to take the gifts presented and starch them with the others.
"It's no big deal. This is what friends are for."
Gina nodded and went back to give her attention to Brooklyn. "Come on, let's go and have some desserts."
Brooklyn smiled grateful as she followed Gina's lead arm in arm to have some desserts.
Valerie gritted her teeth. She had brought expensive jewels, so why did Raymond and Gina disregard her so?
Meanwhile, Gina, Brooklyn, Felix and Raymond sat at their table enjoying a couple of desserts with fine wine alongside hearty conversations. The night was going great for these four.
The two couple's also got to enjoy their couple's dance on the dance floor just as much as the guests did. When the third slow dancing song came to an end, Brooklyn excused herself.
"May I have this dance?" A female had her hand stretched out towards Felix.
When she saw that his dance partner excused herself, Lauren took her chance to ask Felix for a dance. After all, it wasn't against dance etiquette to ask others for a dance if they were free.
Lauren watched with a smirk when Brooklyn left without a word. She felt very satisfied.
"No." Felix curtly replied. His gaze still lingered at Brooklyn's retreating back.
Lauren was thankful that a lot of the guests were busy concentrating on their dance choreography with their dance partners since the music had just started playing.
Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to bear it if a lot of them witnessed Felix rejecting her offer to dance together.
