Chapter 9 - I didn't think you had a heart

"Won't you have breakfast?" Felix asked the question to Brooklyn who was in a hurry to get to work.

As the sore Lemington heiress, Brooklyn was now in charge, as the president, of running Crystal art gallery.

Brooklyn stopped in her tracks and turned to face Felix who was enjoying his breakfast. "What happened to not interfering in each other's affairs?"

Felix chuckled. "Asking you to join me for breakfast is me being nosy?"

Brooklyn didn't want to exchange any more words with Felix.

It's too early for that.

Brooklyn turned around, resuming her strides to the Range Rover that awaited her outside.

Felix dabbed his mouth with the napkin, got up and made his way to the Porsche that awaited him outside.

"The new update for our software has just been finalised, sir." Dante passed the tablet from the passenger seat to his boss, Felix.

Felix hummed in approval. Galactix was the influential tech company that he'd successfully established.

Felix branched away from the family hotel business. Raymond and Gina had no choice but to put someone else in charge as they had retired.

"What's this?" Dante scrowled in confusion as he turned to Felix. "I thought we already dealt with these speculations. Sue them."

Dante nodded his head in agreement. Hotnews website was still persistently posting rumours about Brooklyn being a drug addict. They really need to be taught a lesson.

After arriving at Galactix, Felix quickly made it to his top floor office.

Felix sighed as he closed his office door. There was a familiar face seated across his desk.

"What are you doing here?" Felix removed his suit jacket and placed it on the hanging rack. He sat at his chair, put on his reading glasses and turned on his desktop computer.

"I came to see you."

"You've seen me. So, you can leave now."

"Come on man. Are you really gonna continue ignoring me?" Roman asked, frustrated.

"Did you seriously come all this way to complain like a little child?"

Roman sighed. "I missed my friend is all."

Felix scoffed.

"Do you still hold a grudge against me? Because it certainly feels that way."

"You made it very clear that I didn't mean anything to you."

"I was angry." Roman sighed. "I'm sorry."

Felix stopped typing on his keyboard and looked straight at Roman's eyes. "I didn't think you had a heart."

Roman chuckled. "Surprise."

Felix shook his head with a smile on his face. The tension in the room quickly dispelled as the two childhood friends finally made up.
