A couple of hours had gone by. Brooklyn was still not out of the operating room. Tensions were high up in the air. Roman stayed with Felix for emotional support.
"She'll be okay." Roman kept on reminding Felix who was anxiously tapping his foot while glanching at the operating room doors every now and then.
Creak!
The nurse came out from the operating room. Felix hastily got up from the chair to hear what she had to say.
"I was advised to inform you about the patient's condition. The operation will take a couple more hours. She sustained a lot of injuries."
Felix shakily exhaled.
"But..."
"But what?" Felix hastily asked.
"It seems she was sedated. We found traces of phencyclidine, a hallucinogen in her blood."
"What?"
The nurse went back inside the operating room.
"Is it possible that she..." Roman was unable to finish his sentence considering the death glare from Felix.
"Brooklyn doesn't use drugs."
"Okay, okay." Roman raised his hands in surrender.
An anxious Gina made her entrance with Raymond in tow.
"How is she?"
"She'll be out soon." Felix put his phone away.
Gina sighed. "How could this happen?"
"She'll be okay." Felix muttered, more like telling himself. He embraced his mother.
After a couple more hours, the operating doors finally opened. The nurses rolled Brooklyn to the VIP hospital ward after the hectic operation procedure.
"Can we see her?"
"Of course. But, be sure to keep the bmvoice down. She needs as much rest as possible." Dr Hayes advised.
Felix obviously didn't trust any other doctor apart from Dr Hayes to take up Brooklyn's case.
"Thank you." Felix said and then quickly entered Brooklyn's hospital ward to see how she was doing.
Detective Greg approached and had a quck discussion with Raymond and Gina outside the hospital ward. Roman went to check up on a tired Lauren who called and told him that she was finally done with her shift.
"Hey." Felix held Brooklyn's hand. "I'm right here. You're gonna be okay."
Brooklyn still had blemishes on her face. She had on a cast on her left arm. Felix winced in pain. He couldn't handle seeing her like this.
