Chapter 19 - Trouble maker

In the huge office, Brooklyn was busy scrolling through the art pieces that would be showcased for their upcoming art exhibition on her desktop computer.

"That's it?" Amy gulped when Brooklyn asked.

Brooklyn looked up from the computer screen when Amy, her personal assistant didn't say anything.

"There's no way that that's all there is that's being said about me." Brooklyn raised her eyebrow at Amy. "Come on, Amy. Just read it out to me."

Amy cleared her throat. "She's a psychotic b*tch. But to be fair, who hasn't thought about shooting their partner... She's one hell of a woman for acting on her intrusive thoughts."

Brooklyn chuckled after hearing that comment.

"Why's she still roaming about scott-free? She almost killed her husband. Why isn't she locked up?"

"I'm just as confused." Brooklyn shrugged.

"Rich people sh*t I tell you. She's just an attention seeking b*tch.... She's sick in the head."

"That's enough." Amy immediately stopped reading and closed her iPad.

"You know what? I think I just haven't given him enough reason to take me seriously." Brooklyn got up from her chair.

"But ma'am. Your hand." Amy tried dissuading her boss.

"It's just a cast."

With that, Brooklyn was already out of her office, making her way to her Bugatti.

Meanwhile, at the police station.

The detective sighed, frustrated with the commotion in front of him. At the same time, Felix rushed to the station when he was called.

Felix exhaled. "What's going on?"

"Err, Mr Easton. We had no choice but to detain your wife over there." The detective pointed at the cell where Brooklyn was leaning her back against the wall.

"Can you let her go, now that I'm here?"

"Of course."

Brooklyn didn't seem pleased to see Felix there. She seemed bored more than anything. Felix sighed upon looking at her dishevelled appearance.

"Did someone beat you up?"

Brooklyn scoffed. "What're you talking about? I'm the one who did so much worse to the other person." She arrogantly said.

Felix shook his head. "As if. Your left hand is in a cast, so how could you possibly do so much worse?" He didn't believe her.

"The other lady is actually much worse." The detective agreed with Brooklyn who was smriking.

Felix scrowled in confusion. Just then, the other lady in question was brought out from the adjacent cell. She really got a good beating from Brooklyn.

But how? Brooklyn literally has a cast on her left arm.

"These two crashed their cars. Things got physical between them. That's why they were brought in."

"Lauren?" Felix asked, surprised to see that the lady Brooklyn beat up so bad was in fact the Lauren he knew.

"I suggest you both compensate each other for the damages you did to each other's cars. Be it through your insurance."

Lauren scoffed, pointing her finger at Brooklyn. "Why should I compensate her? She's the one who rammed into my car!"

"You're really asking for another beating." Brooklyn was quickly held back by Felix when she wanted to lunge at Lauren.

"Come on! Beat me. Come at me if you dare. After all, that's all you're good at, you addict!" Lauren yelled.

The room fell silent.

Brooklyn took advantage of this and pounced on Lauren. She was not holding back. When everyone got back to their senses and realised what was going on, Brooklyn had beaten Lauren up to her satisfaction.

Brooklyn grinned when she was pulled back from assaulting Lauren any further. "What can I say? You're right honey. I'm an addict. But I just don't like that arrogant smirk on your face when you say it."

Brooklyn glared at Lauren who was a sobbing mess on the floor, one more time before walking out of the police station.

Felix shook his head as he followed behind, smirking.

She's a trouble maker,

My trouble maker.
