Chapter 26 - A Demon Among Angels

To treat Karil, Kazaris had to go to the realm of angels to find a special kind of flower. Kazaris walked a long way in the forest until he reached a cliff.

Kazaris looked down at the scenery below the cliff and thought: "Why am I putting myself in danger for a person?"

The leaves and branches of the trees shook. Suddenly, Kazaris turned around and said: "Who's there?!"

Lyotan came out from between the forest trees and said: "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

Kazaris looked at Lyotan angrily and said: "You left Karil alone with Athiris?!"

Lyotan smiled and said: "Don't worry, if Atheris was really a danger to Karil, he would have killed all of us by now."

Kazaris thought for a moment, sighed, and while he was nervous, said: "I know, but why did you follow me all this way?"

Lyotan looked a bit embarrassed and said: "You saved me back then, it's not right to leave you alone."

Suddenly, Kazaris grabbed Lyotan by the collar and said: "You are really stupid. Why do you want to help someone like me who is eager to kill you?"

Lyotan took a deep breath and said: "If you want to kill me, do it quickly. After all, I killed you once."

Kazaris threw Lyotan back, Lyotan hit a tree hard and his shoulders were injured severely.

Kazaris approached Lyotan angrily and said: "I just don't understand, why do you and the others keep caring about me?! I am a great demon, got it?! A demon!"

Lyotan got up from the ground with the help of his hands and stood.

Lyotan looked coldly and said: "I don't care who you are, my friends betrayed me easily, but my greatest enemy has been like a family member to me for ten years."

Kazaris was touched by Lyotan and thought: "Why is this person so valuable to me?"

Suddenly Kazaris hugged Lyotan.

Lyotan, shocked, said: "What are you doing?!"

Kazaris looked at the cliff and said: "Hold me tight, we have to fly!"

While holding Lyotan, Kazaris jumped off the cliff and flew.

Lyotan opened his eyes and saw that he was in the sky. Kazaris, holding Lyotan, looked at him with pride and said: "How do you feel? It's really thrilling, isn't it?"

Lyotan, with great excitement, looked down at the scenery and said: "Everything looks different from up here. It's like I'm in a broader and larger world!"

Kazaris carefully observed everything below and said: "If I remember correctly, the realm of angels should be this way."

Lyotan smiled and said: "You might have a bad sense of direction, but you have a very good memory."

Kazaris frowned and said: "Enough talking, I fly very fast, be careful not to fall!"

Suddenly, Kazaris accelerated and flew at high speed.

Kazaris landed on a tall rock and placed Lyotan on the ground.

Kazaris pointed to a gate and said: "If we pass through that gate, we'll reach the land of angels."

Lyotan's face showed a bit of worry and he said: "Kazaris, maybe it's better if we don't go any further. Nisus might have lied to trap you."

Kazaris looked at Lyotan, his face tightened, and while clenching his fists, said: "I don't care if he told me the truth or lied, I will do anything to save Karil."

Lyotan gave a sad smile and said: "Then let me go instead of you. I left Karil when he needed me the most, so..."

Suddenly, Kazaris grabbed Lyotan's hand and said: "I was just as guilty as you, so let's go together."

Kazaris transformed his appearance to look like a human and, along with Lyotan, entered the land of angels.

Kazaris and Lyotan were walking through a large, almost glowing city. The houses were white, and the city's streets were paved with tiles. The city's people were coming and going, each busy with their own lives.

In the middle of the city was a large tower that attracted a lot of attention. On the tower was the symbol of the sun, shining in the sunlight.

Lyotan stopped and looked at the large tower in the city, smiled, and said: "It's really amazing. This city is warm and radiant, just like your eyes!"

Kazaris crossed his arms and frowned, saying: "Stop complimenting my eyes. I hate them."

Suddenly, Kazaris's eyes fell on the yellow flower that Nisus had shown him. He quickly went over to the grass to pick it up.

Kazaris knelt beside the flower and said: "I finally found it!"

An angel: "What are you doing?!"

Kazaris looked behind him and saw that several angels had surrounded him.

The leader of the angels, with a cold look, said to Kazaris: "Who are you? Show me your identification."

Kazaris swallowed hard out of anxiety, calmed himself, and with a pained expression, said: "I need this flower. My brother's life is in danger..."

Lyotan came up next to Kazaris, smirked, and said: "Look here, a demon pretending to be an angel and stealing from you."

Kazaris looked at Lyotan in surprise and, shocked, said: "What are you doing?! Don't you want to save Karil?!"

Lyotan smirked at Kazaris, then without saying anything, left Kazaris with the angels.

The leader of the angels captured Kazaris with golden chains.

Kazaris, in pain, stretched out his hand and said: "I accept any... punishment... please, save my brother..."

The leader smiled and said: "It looks like you've forgotten your place, Kazaris. You are a demon in the realm of angels."

The angels took Kazaris with them to the large tower in the city to put him on trial.

Kazaris was in the courtroom, chained to a high platform to be judged. The leader of the angels approached Kazaris and said: "Kazaris, because of the many sins you have committed, you must stay alive and be punished. We will not execute you; you will be imprisoned for the rest of your life in a room while chained."

The other angels were watching Kazaris.

Kazaris thought: "Damn it, I can't use any magic!"

The leader looked into Kazaris's eyes, smiled, and said: "Oh, by the way, you will never be able to use magic again."

Kazaris became angry and struggled to free himself.

The leader chuckled softly and said: "You don't even deserve those golden eyes."

A male angel was sitting bored on a chair. Suddenly, his eyes fell on Kazaris's eyes and he thought: "Kazaris?! Why is he here?!"

Suddenly, the angel rushed towards Kazaris and shouted: "Kazaris, is that really you?!"

Kazaris looked at the man and said in surprise: "Alorin?!"

Alorin looked at the leader and said seriously: "Kazaris is my friend. He saved my life in the past."

The leader frowned at Alorin, then suddenly burst into laughter and said: "A demon saved an angel?!"

Kazaris frowned and said: "If I knew you were an angel, I would have never saved you."

Alorin got angry and said: "At least play along a little."

Leader: "I've changed my mind. We won't imprison you. From now on, you have to work for us to atone for your sins."

Kazaris frowned and said: "I'd rather die than mix with angels."

The leader smirked and said: "You don't get to choose, you must do it."

Kazaris, gritting his teeth in hatred, thought: "Lyotan, I swear I'll escape from here somehow and make you pay for this!"
