Karil was sitting on a large rock in the forest, surrounded by trees, next to Kazaris, listening to what Kazaris was saying about his journey.
Karil: "So, Lyotan betrayed you."
Kazaris, with his hand under his chin and a frown, said: "Yeah, I really misjudged him."
Karil: "It's all my fault. I made Leotan experience a very hard and terrifying life."
Kazaris thought: "Maybe I shouldn't have destroyed the peace treaty."
Kazaris looked at Karil, smirked, and said: "I admit that you're the only one I can never defeat, even though you're just a miserable person."
Kazaris stood up and left. Karil watched Kazaris and thought: "Why is this demon so stupid? He could have just killed me from the beginning and gotten rid of me."
Karil wandered in the forest, stopped, and thought to himself: "He even went to the land of angels because of me, but I..."
Karil looked at the sky, his face contorted, and while clenching his fists, thought: "Why?! Why do I always survive?!"
Alorin was watching Karil from behind the trees, thinking: "This boy is enduring a lot of pain. Maybe I should go to him and talk to him."
Suddenly, Karil looked around carefully, with scary eyes and a cold tone, said: "I know you're there, show yourself."
Alorin came out from behind the trees, raised his hands, and said: "Oh man, you're really sharp. I got caught so easily."
Karil looked at Alorin in surprise and said: "What exactly are you? I've never seen anyone like you before."
Alorin smiled and said: "How do you not know? I'm an angel."
Karil: "An angel...?"
Karil looked into Alorin's eyes and thought: "The color of his eyes is similar to Kazaris's, but his appearance is very different from Kazaris."
Alorin looked at Karil curiously and said: "Huh? Red eyes? Are you cursed?"
Karil, flustered, said: "I'm not a demon! I just-"
Alorin: "You're possessed."
Karil: "Huh? Possessed?"
Alorin: "You heard right. You've been possessed by a demonic force."
Karil was shocked and said: "How do you know this?"
Alorin chuckled and said: "Karil, let's make a deal."
Karil: "You know my name-"
Alorin: "You break the seal that has locked all my powers, and I'll explain everything to you."
Karil, looking at Alorin, thought: "Should I trust him? He can really help me, but what if he betrays me afterward?"
Alorin: "Still don't trust me? I'll sign a pact with you."
Karil extended his hand towards Alorin and with a smile said: "I accept."
Alorin shook Karil's hand and said: "You've made the right choice, Karil."
Karil and Alorin went to a secluded spot in the forest so no one could see them. Karil was walking, and Leotan followed him silently.
Karil stopped, looked at Alorin, and said: "I don't think anyone can find us here, so we can talk freely."
Alorin chuckled under his breath. Karil frowned at Alorin and thought: "I feel like I can trust him, but something about this man bothers me."
Alorin: "You're probably a bit confused, but trust me, you need to use your dark magic on me."
Karil was shocked and said in surprise: "Dark magic?!"
Alorin, with a cold look, said: "As I told you, I will tell you everything about the magic that has possessed you, so use it and break my seal."
Karil, trembling, said: "B-but I can't..."
Alorin placed his hand on Karil's shoulder and with a smile said: "Trust me, whatever happens, I'll take care of you."
Karil looked at Alorin and thought: "It's strange, why do I feel hopeful when I look at this man's face?"
Karil took a deep breath and said: "Alright, I trust you."
Karil held his palm out towards Alorin, closed his eyes, and released the dark magic. After a few seconds, Karil opened his eyes and saw Alorin on his knees, clutching his heart.
Karil, shocked and scared, said: "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to-"
Alorin: "I'm fine."
Karil looked at Alorin in surprise. Alorin stood up, smiled, and said: "I didn't think you'd actually do it. Thank you."
Karil was stunned and stared at Alorin in amazement.
Alorin smiled and said: "As I promised, I'll tell you everything about the dark magic."
Alorin, slightly injured by the dark magic, used a healing spell on himself to recover. Karil watched Alorin with curiosity and amazement, thinking: "He's not too injured, but I'm sure the shock was intense. How did he manage to stand up again?"
Alorin looked at Karil, smiled, and said: "You must be very curious about me. My name is Alorin, a mid-level angel."
Karil, surprised, said: "Alorin?"
Alorin sighed, held his forehead, and said: "It seems Kazaris didn't tell you anything about me. Well, he's a demon after all."
Karil thought for a moment and said: "Oh, I see."
Alorin took Karil's hands, and Karil, surprised, said: "What are you doing?!"
Alorin: "Karil, let me enter your mind."
Karil: "Huh? Why?"
Alorin: "I want to see the dark magic up close."
Karil thought: "If I let him into my mind, maybe he can find a way to break my curse."
Karil: "Alright, do whatever you need to do."
Alorin found himself floating in the air, looking around, and saw Karil's spirit bound by chains.
Alorin: "Huh? You're chained?!"
Karil, frowning, said: "These chains have been here since I was born and never disappear."
Alorin approached Karil, looked at the chains, and said: "So that's the reason. The dark magic has enslaved you."
Alorin touched the chains.
Karil, surprised, said: "What are you doing?!"
Suddenly, Alorin pulled his hand back and said: "Damn, it's draining all my energy!"
Karil, distressed, said: "I'm sorry, I only cause harm to others."
Alorin: "Karil, think of the happiest moments of your life."
Karil, surprised, said: "What? But why?"
Alorin: "Just think about it."
Karil: "Alright."
Suddenly, Karil's memories appeared, and Alorin watched the image of Karil with his family.
Among the memories, there was one that stood out the most. Alorin went towards that memory to watch it. It was the day of the fireworks, and Karil was watching the fireworks ceremony with Leotan, Kazaris, and Tanita.
Alorin saw the image of Kazaris and said in surprise: "Is that Kazaris?! But why is he in the form of a child...?!"
Karil smirked and said: "Kazaris reincarnated inside my body ten years ago. He tried to create a new body for himself, but due to my weak mana, he became a child."
Karil couldn't stop laughing and fell to the ground from laughter.
Alorin looked at Karil in surprise and said: "They really disappeared!"
Karil: "Huh?"
Karil sat down, looked at his hands, and said in amazement: "I-I'm free...!"
It was hard for Karil to believe. The chains that had bound him for eighteen years had now vanished.
