Kazaris made it back to the city and saw Mellory in the town square, becoming extremely worried about Karil. Mellory explained everything that had happened to Kazaris.
Mellory: "And who are you?"
Alorin smiled and said, "I'm Kazaris's friend. Nice to meet you."
Kazaris frowned at Alorin and said, "I don't recall you being my friend."
Alorin thought, "He's always so proud."
Mellory took Kazaris's hand and led him to a place where they could talk privately.
Kazaris: "I was only gone for two days, and you missed me already?"
Mellory sighed and said, "That's not the point. Do you even know the one with you is an angel?"
Kazaris crossed his arms and frowned, "So what? Just a foolish angel."
Mellory: "Don't let appearances fool you. Angels are much more dangerous than they appear!"
Kazaris thought, "I mustn't ruin my imposing image in front of Mellory."
Kazaris gave a proud smile and said, "Don't underestimate me. I'll let that angel be as happy as he wants for now, but I'll settle the score with him later."
Alorin came up to Kazaris, placed a hand on his shoulder, and asked, "Is she your girlfriend?"
Kazaris, flustered, thought, "How did he figure that out?!"
Kazaris tried to control himself and frowned, "Of course not. Why would you think I like this foolish girl?"
Mellory frowned and said, "Enough talking. Let's get to the point."
Mellory pulled out a map from her pocket and handed it to Kazaris. Kazaris unfolded the map and said, "A map?"
Mellory: "Athiris gave me this map and said to give it to you if you returned."
Kazaris saw a marked spot on the map and thought for a moment, and said :"How am I supposed to use this?"
Mellory sighed and said, "I didn't expect much more from you."
Alorin looked at the mark on the map in astonishment and said, "This is impossible! This village was destroyed in the war years ago!"
Kazaris looked at Alorin and asked, "What do you mean?
Alorin's face fell, and he said, "Years ago, there was an ancient village in the realm of the demons. The king of that land killed all the villagers over an old grudge and razed the village to the ground. And then..."
Kazaris: "So Athiris is one of the survivors of that village, huh?"
Mellory took Kazaris's hands and smiled, saying, "What are you waiting for? Let's fly together."
Kazaris: "Mellory, the truth is I..."
Mellory looked at Kazaris in surprise and said, "Is something wrong?"
Kazaris: "Well, I..."
Alorin smiled and said, "I know the way. Follow me."
Kazaris: "Oh, yeah, let's go with Alorin. He knows where to go!"
Kazaris was about to leave when Mellory grabbed his hand from behind. Kazaris looked at Mellory.
Mellory frowned at Kazaris and said, "There's something you haven't told me yet."
Kazaris put his hand on his forehead, annoyed, and said, "Alright, fine. I've been cursed, and I can't fly. Alorin can't either!"
Mellory took a deep breath and said, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Kazaris frowned and said, "Because I didn't want you to be disappointed in me. Well, I..."
Mellory smiled and said, "I can use teleportation magic to take you wherever you need to go."
Kazaris, happy, said, "Mellory, when did you learn this magic?"
Mellory smiled and used teleportation magic on Kazaris. Alorin quickly ran to Kazaris and grabbed him, and they both disappeared.
Mellory: "Huh? That angel kidnapped my Kazaris!"
Kazaris frowned and said, "Let go of me. I don't like these silly games."
Alorin released Kazaris and looked around. They were in a lush, green forest.
Alorin: "Where do we go now?"
Suddenly, Athiris landed in front of Kazaris and Alorin, flying down swiftly. "Kazaris, hurry and come with me. Karil is in a bad condition!"
Kazaris quickly rushed to Karil, who was lying on the grass, panting heavily from a high fever.
Kazaris shouted, "Karil!"
Kazaris knelt beside Karil, loosening his collar to help him breathe easier. There were red demonic marks on Karil's body.
Athiris came next to Kazaris and said worriedly, "These marks become more prominent and numerous each time, causing Karil more pain."
Kazaris: "Don't worry, I found the yellow flower and brought it with me."
Kazaris took the yellow flower out of his bag. Suddenly, the marks on Karil's body disappeared, and the yellow flower vanished.
Kazaris: "Huh? Just like that?"
Alorin, standing and watching Kazaris, said, "This magical flower neutralizes all negative magic. Now, there's no danger to this boy's life."
Kazaris, happily, said, "Don't worry, Karil. I'm here with you now."
Alorin stepped closer to see Karil, but suddenly, Athiris grabbed Alorin by the collar and slammed him against a crumbling wall.
Kazaris stood up in surprise and said, "What are you doing?!"
Athiris, angrily looking at Alorin, said, "I won't let you get close to my child!"
Alorin looked at Athiris, Athiris stared into Alorin's eyes and said, "Because you saved Karil, I won't harm you, but if you get close to Karil again, I'll be furious."
Alorin took a deep breath and smiled, "It seems you still don't trust me. Fine, I won't get close to the boy."
Karil woke up, sat up, and looked at his hands. He thought, "I'm in a forest..."
Karil walked towards the river, sat by it, and saw his reflection.
Kazaris: "Karil... you're awake?"
Karil: "Kazaris, why did you save me?"
Kazaris: "What do you mean?! Of course, I had to do it!"
Karil: "Kazaris, I have a demon inside me. I'm a real monster, and I only harm others. You shouldn't have risked your life to save me."
Kazaris, angrily: "None of this was your fault. You just wanted to get revenge. You didn't do anything wrong!"
Karil stood up, grabbed Kazaris by the collar, and said, "You don't understand. I'm a real monster. I was destroying the entire city. At that time..."
Karil's face twisted, and suddenly, he hugged Kazaris.
Kazaris: "Karil..."
Karil: "Kazaris, I'm really scared. I don't know what to do."
Kazaris gave a faint smile and said, "Don't worry. Whatever happens, I'll protect you. We'll find a way together, I promise."
Athiris was watching Karil and Kazaris from a distance, feeling happy and giving a faint smile.
