Bella's Point of View
The guards flanked me as I reached the exit, their tense expressions betraying their worry.
"Are you okay, ma'am? We've been searching for you," one of them said, stepping closer.
"I'm fine," I replied curtly, brushing past them.
"But who was that with you earlier?" another guard dared to ask.
I froze mid-step, turning to face them. My eyes narrowed, and I let my voice harden. "You didn't see anything. And whatever you think you saw, you must forget it. I won't hear a single word about this. Do you understand?"
They exchanged hesitant glances before nodding.
"Yes, ma'am, but …"
I cut him off sharply. "I said, do you understand?"
"Yes, ma'am," they chorused.
