Mary's enterprise
Bella Point of view
The news anchor's voice droned on from the living room television, "We've received intel from an internal source that the Chairman and CEO of Ashers will be discharged from the hospital today. However, after hours of waiting, no activity has been observed."
The camera panned to a crowd of press reporters swarming the entrance of Ashers General Hospital.
I sighed, sinking further into the couch. My brother's medical furlough was supposed to be a moment of relief for our family, but the media frenzy made it impossible to feel at ease.
Jonathan walked in, brushing off his coat as he greeted me.
"Hello, Bella. How are you holding up?"
"I'm managing," I replied. "How did the trial go?"
Jonathan's face softened. "Your brother's medical furlough was granted. He's been transferred to Ashers Hospital under private care, just as planned."
