The car suddenly came to a stop, and the steward said, "Young master, Dr. Ye, we've arrived home!" With that, the steward got out of the car and opened the back door.
"Please, Dr. Ye!" Harry said politely.
As a super-rich man, Norman's residence was naturally quite large. As Ye Hai walked into the luxurious mansion, which resembled a castle, he casually looked around. It felt extravagant, but it clearly lacked the depth that Professor X's estate possessed.
Ye Hai followed Harry through the villa and soon ascended the stairs to Norman's bedroom.
Norman's bedroom was spacious, and inside stood several muscular men, their physique large and emanating a strong aura, as if they were battle-hardened soldiers. These men seemed to have not noticed Ye Hai at all, standing expressionless like statues.
Norman was lying on the sickbed, his complexion pale and gaunt, looking like a terminal cancer patient.
Ye Hai walked over to Norman, took a look, and said, "Chairman, it seems your condition is quite dire!"
"Yes, Dr. Ye," Norman weakly raised his head and said, "I hope your potion can bring me back to life!"
"Of course, it will! Don't worry!" Ye Hai laid a password box flat and opened it, taking out a vial of potion and a syringe.
At this moment, the steward said, "Dr. Ye, may I assist?"
"Of course."
Ye Hai handed the potion and syringe to the steward, who filled the syringe with the green liquid. Turning to Ye Hai, his eyes were serious and cold: "Dr. Ye, is this potion really effective? You need to understand that if something goes wrong, you will pay a heavy price!"
"Enough," Norman interjected, waving his hand slightly, weakly saying, "Regardless of success or failure, I must try. If I fail, please do not let my body be buried; instead, allow it to be used for research. I hope my remains can offer Harry a glimmer of hope."
Harry trembled, fighting back tears.
Ye Hai sighed in his heart; truly, every parent cares deeply for their child.
Norman's cloudy eyes looked at Ye Hai, continuing, "If I die, Dr. Ye, I won't bother you and will transfer 5% of Osborn's shares to you, but I need you to agree to one condition."
"What condition?" Ye Hai looked down at Norman.
"Help Harry with his genetic disease." Norman stared intently at him.
"Do you trust me that much?" Ye Hai asked, perplexed.
"You are the most talented scientist I have met in many years. You possess a creative ability that others envy, and I believe you can help cure Harry's illness, as long as you are given enough time." Norman continued to look at Ye Hai, "So, I need your promise!"
Ye Hai nodded solemnly, "I accept, but I am very confident in my potion."
Ye Hai felt helpless; couldn't these people have a little more faith in him? It felt as if they were saying goodbye forever, which was truly frustrating.
Norman let out a sigh of relief, as if he had relinquished all concerns, and then said to the steward, "Let's begin!"
"Yes," the steward nodded slightly, but his hands trembled as though weighed down by a heavy burden. After a long moment, he approached Norman's arm and inserted the syringe into his vein.
Everyone watched the green potion slowly enter Norman's frail body, their expressions complex, filled with anticipation and worry. Only Ye Hai appeared calm, fully confident in his potion, reassured by the system that it would not go wrong.
Suddenly, Norman let out a slight groan, his body curling up violently. He gripped the bedsheet tightly, as if enduring immense pain.
Everyone was alarmed, casting uneasy glances at Ye Hai.
Ye Hai shrugged and explained, "When the potion takes effect, there may be some pain. However, to care for the Chairman's condition, I've slowed the drug's effect, so the pain shouldn't be too intense. Mr. Norman should be able to endure it."
The effect had been slowed, but judging by Norman's expression, he still appeared to be in torment. Everyone couldn't help but feel concerned about the potion; however, most present had some knowledge of gene therapy and understood that gene recombination could involve significant pain. This was a normal phenomenon.
Norman's suffering continued, his groans low and weak, reminiscent of a dying patient lamenting his life, filled with longing and reluctance. As time passed, his groans grew louder and more forceful, no longer feeble.
The steward's eyes brightened, exclaiming, "It seems this potion is effective; Mr. Norman's condition is improving!"
The room was filled with advanced medical equipment, and the steward, being knowledgeable in this area, adjusted the devices. The screen displayed Norman's current health data.
"The data is trending towards health; it seems Mr. Norman has a chance of recovery!" the steward exclaimed joyfully.
Harry instantly became ecstatic, asking, "Dad, how are you feeling right now?"
"Child, don't worry," Norman managed to smile through the pain, his distorted face forced a grin, "It seems I have hope of surviving."
An hour later, the pain began to subside. Norman shook his body, removing the instruments attached to him, skillfully jumping off the bed, moving with the agility of a youth.
Harry looked at his father in delight, asking, "Dad, it looks like you're already better!"
"Yes, I'm better! I haven't felt like this in many years; I feel as if I've become a twenty-something young man again!" Norman exclaimed.
