Chapter 33 - Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 33

George's expression changed suddenly as he jumped to his feet and shouted at the uninvited strangers, "Who are you?"

There were five people in total, all appearing to be in their twenties or thirties. Their faces were pale, and they wore a mix of hip-hop style clothing, with bizarre and colorful hair that made them look no different from the idle individuals loitering on the streets.

The leader was a tall man, probably in his thirties, with a full beard on both cheeks. His brown eyes greedily scanned the group in front of him, and he suddenly opened his mouth to reveal two sets of sharp fangs behind his gleaming white teeth.

"You're vampires!" George exclaimed, quickly drawing a gun from his waist and aiming it at the five.

George's children screamed, rushing behind him for safety, but only Gwen and Ye Hai remained calm in their seats. Ye Hai examined the peculiar vampires with interest, immediately realizing that their combat abilities were mediocre; aside from being slightly faster than average people, they lacked any superhuman power.

In his eyes, these boastful vampires were nothing more than low-level threats.

The vampires were unfazed by George's gun. The man who introduced himself as Quinn spoke casually, "My name is Quinn. My boss sent me to have a word with you!"

"What do you want to talk about? Who is your boss?" George tightened his grip on the gun, glaring coldly at the vampires and subtly signaling to his wife.

Having been together for years, Mrs. Stacey quickly understood his intent and carefully reached into her pocket, hoping to grab her phone to call for help. The vampires clearly showed no fear of George's firearm, suggesting they weren't concerned about any repercussions.

Quinn, however, cast a disdainful glance at Mrs. Stacey and said, "Madam, save your efforts. We've already blocked all signals in your vicinity before entering your home. You won't be able to make a call." He grinned, revealing his sharp teeth to George as he added, "We've gone to great lengths to prepare for this, so can we sit down and talk with the director?"

"Talk about what? Don't you dare harm my family!" George shouted in response.

"Not at all, of course not," Quinn waved his hand dismissively. "Director George, can you please lower your gun? While I'm not afraid of it, it makes me uncomfortable being pointed at like this."

George slowly lowered his gun and asked, "What do you want to discuss?"

Quinn looked over the children and replied, "I think we should find a separate room to sit down and discuss this properly…"

George firmly shook his head, "I won't let my family out of my sight!"

"Very well then," Quinn shrugged helplessly, his face twisting into a fake smile. "Our guys have been causing too much trouble for you lately, drawing unwanted attention even from the media. That's a bad thing for us; we need you police officers to help us handle this…"

"That's impossible," George immediately interrupted, speaking sternly. "If you want to avoid trouble, you should rein in your subordinates. If you continue attacking innocent civilians unchecked, the government will surely act against you…"

"No, no," Quinn countered, shaking his head. "We're not worried about the government. They're just a bunch of old men who are scared of death. We, on the other hand, can offer them immortality in exchange—that's the deal."

Ye Hai, curious, interjected, "Can vampires really achieve immortality and never age?"

Quinn turned his attention to Ye Hai, smiling warmly as he replied, "Yes, sir, we can achieve immortality. You can't refuse such an offer, can you?"

A look of disdain crossed Ye Hai's face as he responded, "Immortality is indeed a tremendous temptation for humans, but I have no interest in being a rat in the dark." He smiled at the vampires and added, "However, I am quite interested in vampires. I might even keep a few at home for research."

"Do you think we're just pets? Be careful, boy, or I'll drain you dry," one of the younger vampires behind Quinn growled, looking fierce as if ready to pounce.

This intimidation had no effect on Ye Hai. With a swift motion, he brandished his fork and knife, and in an instant, they were embedded in the young vampire's palm.

The vampire screamed in pain, jumping around frantically. The other vampires were taken aback; they hadn't reacted quickly enough to that sudden move.

It seemed this yellow-skinned kid was not an ordinary person.

"Who are you?" Quinn glared coldly at Ye Hai. "Facing our bloodline isn't a smart move."

With that, they pulled out submachine guns from their clothes, the cold barrels trained on Ye Hai.

"Ah!"

The children screamed in terror, shaken by the violent display.

George trembled as he said, "Don't do anything reckless. Let's talk things through…"

"Bang bang!"

The vampires ignored him, their guns roaring as bullets rained down on Ye Hai, the powerful impact knocking him to the ground.

"No!"

Gwen cried out, nearly breaking down.

The vampires stopped firing as Quinn let out a sinister laugh, mocking George while shifting his greedy gaze toward the young and beautiful Gwen. The lovely blonde girl fascinated him greatly, and he decided that if George refused to cooperate, he would toy with this girl right in front of them…

In that moment of lustful intent, Quinn's face twisted into a lecherous grin. Then, with a violent crash, he was thrown against the wall. Almost instantaneously, his companions were also smashed against the wall, the force of impact shattering their bones and internal organs, leaving blood splattered everywhere.

"Sorry, too bloody!" Ye Hai stood unharmed in the living room. "This isn't good for the kids!"

He felt his clothes riddled with holes and was quite displeased. He had let his guard down, mainly because he was an ordinary person, and he had never expected them to fire without hesitation. It had caught him off-guard, and he ended up getting hit.

Gwen smiled, finally remembering that Ye Hai had a monstrous regenerative ability. Thankful for that power, she realized it had saved his life.

"What's going on? How did you survive?" George stared at Ye Hai in horror.
