After this incident, Ye Hai's identity as a mutant was fully exposed to the police. George used his authority to keep Ye Hai from appearing in front of reporters, but other government agencies would undoubtedly find out, and those organizations hostile to mutants might take action against Ye Hai, which worried George greatly.
To protect his daughter and future son-in-law, this usually law-abiding old policeman even considered tampering with evidence, instructing his family to conceal the fact that Ye Hai had killed those vampires. However, after some analysis, he dismissed the idea. He realized that while hiding things from the police department might be manageable, keeping it from an organization like SHIELD was virtually impossible.
After the police arrived, Ye Hai was busy for several hours before finally being freed from questioning. The officers did not trouble him; rather, they regarded him with awe. Anyone who saw those mangled corpses would feel the same way.
"George, when those bodies come back to life, remember to notify me. I want to know where their lair is," Ye Hai said in a low voice.
George understood what he meant but was astonished. "Do you really believe those bodies can come back to life?"
"Yes, I'm certain," Ye Hai replied. After leaving the villa, Gwen followed him out, still looking worried.
"What's wrong, Gwen?" Ye Hai asked.
"I'm worried about my family's safety," Gwen said. "Look, these vampires have become so brazen that they are causing trouble at my home. They're so reckless that they will definitely come again, and it's hard to imagine what will happen when you're not around."
Ye Hai smiled. "Don't worry, I have arrangements. You have to trust me; how could my intelligence not take this into account?"
Gwen's eyes lit up. "What's your solution?"
Ye Hai replied with a smile, "My plan is to get the government to help. Look, they're already here."
As he spoke, a bright light descended from the sky, revealing a very sleek aircraft. After the cabin door opened, a middle-aged man stepped out and walked over to Ye Hai. "Hello, Science Doctor," he said with a smile.
"Hello, Agent Coulson," Ye Hai responded.
This man was Agent Phil Coulson. Recently, SHIELD had analyzed the Osborn Industries incident and had already begun to suspect Ye Hai's identity. Now, with the incident at Gwen's house, they had practically confirmed that Ye Hai was the flying superhero, the Science Doctor.
Of course, SHIELD was not completely certain yet. Coulson was merely probing, but Ye Hai had no intention of continuing to conceal his identity and openly admitted it.
"Science Doctor," Phil smiled slightly and intelligently asked, "Is there anything we can assist you with?"
"Of course," Ye Hai said, his eyes shining with determination. "I want to know where the lair of these vampires is."
