"Don't panic, kid. I'll make good on my word." Jacob whispered as he led me down the stairs from his grandfather's study.
But I wasn't panicking. Not really, anyway. Being locked in the church with my brother and Shilo means that breaking us all out will be easier. And Jacob's gonna help.
We walked out of the front door and Jacob led me in what I assume is the direction to the church. "I'll have to distract the guard by the back door. Get yourself and your people out and run. Don't stop and don't look back. These people won't take too kindly to their family's food scampering off. Especially when survivors aren't coming in troves like we all thought."
I quirked an eyebrow, "And why aren't they coming?" I asked.
"Our radio's busted. Hard to get a good signal to broadcast this place. A few groups have heard it though."
