We arrived at the motel just as the moon set high into the sky. As luck would have it, no living souls were staying here. Avery, Shilo, and I helped Jacob out of the car and walked him to the motel room door. Room number 136. As Shilo and Avery stood with Jacob, I quickly walked over to the front office and snagged the room key. I took notice of the vending machine and decided I'd come back later to take the rest of its contents. Which wasn't a whole lot, just a few different kinds of chips, some chocolate bars, and a few pastry snack cakes.
"Rooms good to go," Shilo said as I approached them.
"Awesome, get him inside and I'll grab our packs."
