I stood back from the group and took in my surroundings. The sun was going down, and so far, there weren't any of the dead wandering around. The only gut instinct I was getting from Sam was butterflies in my stomach. Sam is nothing like I imagined him. I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that.
He was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. His dark hair was cropped low at his ears, and long enough on top that a few strands fell into his face. His eyes were a deep, steel gray and the way he raked them over my body slowly was excruciatingly noticeable by everyone. I could feel Shilo tense up when he kissed the back of my hand.
