Chapter 1 - Chapter 1, The beginning

The mythical baby Nidhogg dragon was as mischievous and chaotic as ever and was up to no good once again. Her poor owner Fiona in her old age could not take care of this dragon any longer and was running out of food because of this dragon's unfathomable hunger. Fiona had come across this dragon decades ago when she was still a strong beautiful woman, she had blue eyes with golden-like hair, and like a beacon all men were instantly attracted to her, Fiona was a humble but lonely warrior of Midgard, the realm of humans and was only on a simple scouting mission with her group of two mages, four archers, and four warriors, including herself. She was the only one who made it back… accompanied by this baby dragon, still in infancy. She told the people of the town the story of what had happened, she explained "it was a simple routine mission! Until we came across him, a man… he looked almost dead, and he appeared out of nowhere, we tried to ask him questions, Franklin our leader led the way, he was the first to die… it was a slaughter." That's all Fiona could explain before she broke down, but I will tell you what happened, first her leader was decapitated in the blink of an eye, his body falling off the cliff they had been standing on, next Fiona and the other warriors charged as the archers and mages readied an attack. As she reached him, it was like he disappeared until she heard swords, axes, knives, bows, and staffs clattering to the ground behind her, everyone was dead and mangled on the ground, and the man standing over the party's top mage Catherin's corpse, holding her heart in his hand, eating it like some sort of pastry. Fiona in shock looked at the man in horror trying to bring her sword to face him but she could not. Not because of the fear as she looked at her arm, lying on the ground beside her. She screamed in fear and agony. "My arm!!" Please… Please spare me!!" The man stared at her with a soulless stare which sent a shiver to Fiona's core. Fiona thought to herself, "It was mere moments ago when Fraklin was flirting with me, just last night Catherin was using magic to lighten our moods!" she looked over the cliff and then at Catherin's bloodied body with her face mid-way through the expression of fear, she had two children and a loving husband who laid next to her, dead as well, "those poor children she thought." Of course, she was thinking of others in the last moments of her life. But no, she would not die a meaningless death, she would die in battle so she may be united with her friends in Valhalla, she charged at the man! The man lifted his sword and brought it down but Fiona in a bloody rage, dodged out of the way, grappling onto the man's chest, pushing him to the edge of the cliff. If she was going to die here, she was not going to let this man survive! She kept pushing and pushing, but even with her strength, the man was a brick wall it was like he had to strength of a giant. The man, his skin ripped and ragged was glowing with a slight green tint, but he was outfitted with the finest warrior armour, he brought his great sword to the sky once again, Fiona knew she would be pulverized if even scratched by the sword, so she had to think fast. She looked at her friend Catherin one last time and apologized. She grabbed Catherin's staff which had been a gift Fiona had gotten her last moon and used it to block the man's attack. Fiona felt the bones in her hand shatter and winced in agony, but she would not give up, as the staff buckled and broke in two, she used this as a chance as she moved out of the way and while the man was off balance from the block, she jumped at him, charging both sharded ends of the staff into his empty sockets of eye holes. The man screeched in a tone so horrifying it could not have come from a person, she threw herself and this monster off the cliff. As she was plunging to her death her vision started to flicker as a sharp pain pierced her spine and a hot liquid flowed down her back. The ground getting closer and closer, them falling at overwhelming speeds Fiona's eyes rolled back into her head and everything went black.
