Walking down the hallways, Lin Susu arrived at the Grand Hall. Upon arrival, she noticed a couple guards standing outside the doors. They saw Lin Susu approach, so they bowed respectively to her.
"Young Miss, you arrived at the perfect time." One of the guards said.
Lin Susu raised an eyebrow curiously, as she asked, "Perfect time?"
The guard nodded his head, "Yes, the Third Young Masters Fiancée is here."
Lin Susu froze a little upon hearing this, as she didn't expect to see her third brother fiancée this early. Normally they won't arrive until later in the year! Well, that's normally how the plot goes.
'Hmm, it seems that the start of the story may begin soon,' Lin Susu thought, as she entered the Grand Hall where her Father and Third Brother stood along with a beautiful and charming girl, who looked about the age of eighteen. She had black hair that fell down to her waist and was tied in a ponytail, her eyes were a dark brown and she wore a green colored robe with a fan hanging by her waist. She also had a sword hanging by her side, which was strapped to her waist.
Upon Lin Susu entrance, everyone turned around to greet her by nodding their heads. Including her third brother, Lin Fan. But only a few didn't and they had a sword piercing the sun and moon on the back of their robes. Lin Susu recognized these people as members of the Sun Sword Sect.
'They must be here to discuss something important. Most likely regarding my third brother's engagement to this girl,' Lin Susu deduced. She noticed that the situation was a little tense so she quickly walked behind her father and stood next to Lin Fan. All the elders are in retreat, hoping to break through once again so it's only them and a few clan members.
"Hmph, it seems the first, oh no, second waste of the Lin family has arrived." A mocking voice came out of the beautiful long black hair girl.
Lin Susu ignored the insult, as she looked at her Father's expression and noticed he looked displeased and her Third Brother had his fist clenched.
"Hmm, how is this possible? A mortal body can actually cultivate?" A sudden voice was heard in Lin Fan's head, startling him.
Lin Fan's eyes widened slightly but remained calm on the outside as he glanced over at the ring on his finger.
'Ye Ling?' He said mentally to the ring.
"Indeed. It seems your sister's body is abnormal. Although she is a mortal, she can practice cultivation. And by the amount of Qi cycling throughout her body, she reached the First Stage of Qi Refinement yesterday." Ye Ling responded.
Lin Fan's eyes widened further, as he looked at his sister.
'Yesterday?' He repeated back to Ye Ling.
"Indeed. Her body must be special. Mortals can't practice cultivation, unless it was due to the influence of another powerful bloodline, but she doesn't have one. This is simply breaking the rules of the world." Ye Ling explained.
Lin Fan was astonished by this information. His sister's body must be special indeed for her to practice cultivation without a bloodline! He knows how hard it was for him to break through each stage!
Lin Susu glanced over at Lin Fan's direction, noticing that he was staring at her with wide eyes. She blink cutely at him and turned to face the black hair girl, waiting for her father to speak.
Lin Liang cleared his throat, "Yu Yan, please refrain yourself from insulting my children. Although Susu doesn't have talent in cultivating, she is still part of the Lin Family."
Yu Yan snorted rudely, as she said, "Hmph, for the sake of my father's friendship with yours, I will ignore this matter for now."
Lin Susu rolled her eyes, as she found this girl's attitude annoying. It's almost like she owns the world.
Lin Liang coughed, ignoring Yu Yan's behavior. "Now then, let us discuss the marriage between Lin Fan and Yu Yan."
Yu Yun took out a scroll from her sleeves and tossed it in Lin Liang's direction. "Here is the marriage agreement my father drew up. At the very bottom is the cancellation. I've already signed it. All you need to do is sign it."
Lin Liang caught the scroll, opening it up and reading it thoroughly. Yu Yan's father, Yu Qing, is the Elder of the Sun Sword Sect. It's a local sect within Yangli, and it's not worth mentioning in front of the three great sects, let alone the seven lower sects.
Lin Liang read through the scroll thoroughly, before handing the scroll over to his third son. "Fan Fan, read through it carefully and sign if you agree."
Lin Fan nodded his head, as he grabbed the scroll and read through it himself. Lin Susu watched quietly, wondering what would happen with this engagement. Will her brother sign it? Or will he refuse? Use more incline to the first option.
Lin Fan read through the scroll thoroughly, before sighing deeply. He grabbed the pen and ink nearby and signed it before tossing it back to Yu Yan's direction.
"Remember, it wasn't me who was divorced, it was you." Lin Fan said sternly.
Yu Yan's eyes widened slightly, as she gritted her teeth and grabbed the scroll, "You, a waste, don't have the right to divorce me!" She yelled angrily.
"Well, in three years the Red Empire will hold a competition called the 'Sect Competition'. We shall settle this during then." Yu Yan said, before turning around and storming out while yelling, "That's if you can even join a sect!"
Lin Susu watched the events unfold before her eyes, before glancing over at her third brother's direction. Her brother was frowning, as he clenched his fists tightly.
