Chapter 10 - Lin Ye

Lin Susu walked out of the main hall and was planning on returning back to her room but stopped when she saw her second brother off in the distance.

"Second Brother!" Lin Susu waved her hand at him as the person stopped walking and looked over towards Lin Susu's direction, a frown appearing on his face then a slight look of happiness but it soon faded.

Lin Susu skipped over to him with a smile on her face.

"Second Brother, are you finally out of seclusion?" She asked.

Lin Ye nodded his head.

Lin Susu stared at him and found that her second brother was much colder than normal. Thinking this, a look of determination appeared in her eye's and ran up and took his arm.

"What?" He looked at Lin Susu confused, and pulled her off his arms.

"Hmph! You have changed!" Lin Susu pouted and crossed her arms, looking at her second brother who seemed more gloomy and darker now, but had that of a kingly presence to him.

"So? What about you? You didn't act spoiled like you are now." He said, and began walking away.

Lin Susu hurried up and caught up to him, to Lin Ye's surprise.

"You've entered the first stage of Qi Refinement?" Lin Ye asked as he stopped and looked at her, and a bit of doubt flashed in his eyes.

"Yep! Isn't your sister awesome for stepping in the path of cultivation with a mortal bloodline?" Lin Susu said with a proud tone.

Lin Ye stared at her for a while, and didn't say a word until he muttered, "Weird, she didn't have any cultivation in my last life." Saying that, he put his hand on her shoulder and scanned her body, and sure enough, she had Qi!

Lin Susu's eyes narrowed as she only caught a bit of his words, and her mind was spinning.

'Is Second Brother a reborn person? Does that mean he knows what happens in the future? Such a thick thigh is bigger than my Third Brother!' She thought as her mouth was curved upward into a smile.

"Brother, where are you heading? Do you have any rewards for your sister?"

Hearing Lin Susu ask about a reward, he thought for a moment and sighed. "I don't have time. Maybe next time." Saying that, he continued walking down the cobble path that led outside the family.

"Where is my brother going? Can I go?" Lin Susu asked again, with her innocent smile.

"..." He paused for a moment and replied, "No."

"Aww, so cruel, brother, even you're ignoring me. Fine, I'll tell father that you're leaving the family's territory alone, even though you just broke through the Ninth Stage of Qi Refinement. First Brother also just got into trouble with Sun Sword Sect and father just declared war, so he would definitely stop you from doing what you want."

Lin Ye frowned as he turned around, seeing a small, innocent smile.

'I, the emperor of the Colorless Empire will not submit to such threats!' He thought and turned to Lin Susu, but before he could say anything else, Lin Susu let out another killer.

"You don't want the family to know what you have under your bed, right?" She said in an innocent voice, while the corners of her mouth twitched up in a small smirk.

Lin Ye was dumbstruck, and cursed himself in his heat.

'You damn bastard. You, the future emperor, actually left blackmail behind for your sister!?'

Lin Susu looked at him, and the look in his eyes said everything she needed to know, making her smile grow even bigger.

Lin Ye thought for a minute and came up with an idea, and said, "How about I take you with me on a trip outside the clan for two days, then you keep your mouth shut."

Lin Susu thought about it for a second before agreeing to it.

"Okay, Second Brother should also return by then."

He let out a breath of relief hearing her, and muttered, "So scary..."

Lin Ye couldn't help but shudder at the idea that the girl in front of him had the location of his secret stash of rare goods. If he was alone, it wouldn't have been so bad.

The two left the Lin family residence together, and finally entered a forest near the city town.

The forest was filled with plants that were green, some were yellow and purple as the leaves on the trees fell off and made a soft rustle. The ground itself is covered with weeds of different kinds.

After taking in his surroundings, he quickly walked ahead, with Lin Susu following him. The tree's here were massive and thick, with golden lights in the darkness as the leaves shone with a golden glow. Because of the thickness of the tree's, the two could steadily jump from branch to branch without much effort.

As the two made their way through the forest and reached a valley of water, the scenery itself made Lin Susu gasp in surprise as they went on. The two passed through the thick layers of foliage as a flower, filled with colorful flowers greeted Lin Susu's eyes.

"careful!" Lin Ye shouted, and grabbed Lin Susu from the collar and jumped to the left, landing on a huge boulder.

Lin Susu didn't react and heard a loud banging sound from her right and turned her head over to see a huge brown bear with silver stripes on its forehead. It was covered in dust and dirt and created a spider-web crack on the ground where they just stood.

"T-that. what is that?" She asked as she stood beside Lin Ye.

"Iron Grade: Spirit Brown Bear." Lin Ye answered.

The bear was half the size of the boulder the two stood on and had huge paws that looked sharp enough to shred rocks in the same size of a fist. It turned and stared at the two, anger flashing in its eyes.

"Huh? Iron grade?" Lin Susu frowned hearing the grade of the animal in front of her and asked, "Is that bad?"

"Strength of beast are ranked just like our techniques. Depending on the bloodline, the iron level beast can kill a foundation stage expert in one go." Lin Ye said, pulling out a sword from his ring.

"Stay back, I'll kill it." Lin Ye ordered, jumping off the boulder and stood a hundred feet from the brown bear.

The beast glared at the human in front and roared loudly, sending out a shockwave causing the nearby trees to collapse.

Lin Ye jumped in the air with the sword in hand and slashed at the bear, which roared once again and slammed down at Lin Ye, who jumped away with no sweat and made another slash, making a gash on the bear's shoulders.

Roaring in agony, the bear sped up and punched at him. Lin Ye reacted swiftly, his eyes calm as ever as the bear's sharp claws cut into thin air. It felt a sting on its paw and turned to see Lin Ye, his sword surrounded with white and black light, now in his hands. Seeing the opponent being so fast, the bear stood up, towering over him by another ten feet, but with a snap from Lin Ye, the sword appeared under the bear and cut across his stomach. A bloodcurdling roar came from it as Lin Ye looked unperturbed.

Lin Susu looked at this with a shining light in her eye's, and jumped off the boulder and planned on helping her brother.

Lin Ye heard a sound coming from behind and looked back to see his sister coming this direction which stunned him for a second allowing the Spirit Brown Beard to close the distance between the two of them in the blink of an eye.

The bear raised its claw and swatted at him.

"Crap," He exclaimed, trying to raise his sword and deflect the attack, but knew he was a fraction to slow and he couldn't raise it fast enough to block the beast's huge paw and felt a dull pain on his right arm as his sword got flung out of his hands because of the huge force and then got hit by the second palm, which knocked him twenty feet into a tree, spitting blood out.
