My mind was blank, consumed by the rhythm of Shibuya, as neon lights danced in my disheveled hair under the night sky. At that moment, I remembered the conversation with Yui Katsuragi, her words echoing in my head: "Be careful. Something isn't right."
I had laughed off her concern, thinking it was paranoia, but now a chill crawled down my spine, as if my own survival instincts were warning me.
Suddenly, my shadow stretched like a twisted silhouette on the damp pavement, distorted by the urban lights of the night. That's when I realized I wasn't alone. A pair of eyes, like two black voids, stared at me from the shadows, their intensity making my heart pound. Adrenaline surged through my veins as my mind raced, wondering what was happening.
Then, the night blurred as a black van emerged from the darkness, its imposing frame blocking the light and plunging the surroundings into deeper shadow… Strong arms reached out from the van like steel claws, gripping me from behind with supernatural force that froze my blood. They hurled me inside with a brutal shove. The world seemed to vanish, and in the darkness, Yui's face burned into my memory.
After hours of darkness, my consciousness began to return, dragged back by a throbbing pain in my skull. My body was numb, as if molded from ice. Panic flooded me when I tried to move—I was trapped. Where am I?. The question screamed in my mind. Total darkness suffocated me, my heart pounding as if trying to break free. Disorientation and terror clashed in my thoughts.
Looking down, I saw thick chains coiled around my legs like steel serpents. A scream lodged in my throat as I found my hands shackled to a cold metal chair. Helplessness poisoned my veins. "What is this? Why am I here?" Uncertainty devoured my sanity, leaving only terror.
Suddenly, hissing whispers slithered through the silence. A metal door creaked open, and hooded figures entered, their shadows looming like specters. They spoke in a guttural, alien tongue, plunging me deeper into nightmare. Am I in another country? What do they want? Before I could think, a blunt force struck my back—a iron fist of pain. My vision warped as a primal scream tore from my throat.
The same voice laughed—a cruel, familiar sound, as if shadows themselves mocked me. The laughter grew manic, drilling into my skull.
"HAHAHAHAHA…My heart froze at the voice's icy disdain:
"Well, well… my dear Itsuka Shindo." I looked up, straining to face the man who spoke with such malice.
"You…? I saw you die, my old friend. Why are you doing this? I never wronged you."My voice trembled.
Masashica Shido cackled, his madness echoing. "HAHAHA! Yes, it's me. And though I died in that incident… I survived. Fueled by vengeance."
His laugh sharpened. "Never thought my best friend could be so naive." He began beating me savagely, fists like hammers. Each blow shattered my body and hope. Betrayal and pain merged into venom.
Just as I thought it was over, a commanding voice halted him. "Shido! Stop."
I lifted my head weakly. Shido's face glistened with sweat and fear as a towering figure approached. The man's shadow loomed like a vengeful ghost.
"You,"* he sneered, "are here because my precious twin Rin took an interest in you. Marry her, and I'll return you to Japan."
Confusion swirled. "Who are you? What daughter?"
"I am Katsuragi Kaito. Father of Yui and Rin. You're in Russia— My territory." His gaze pierced me. *"I'm a trafficker who indulges Rin's whims. You'll obey."
I laughed hysterically. "So Rin sent you? I refuse. Torture me, but I'll never marry that lunatic! But Yui… Yui's different. She saw through my mask. She made me feel alive."
My voice rose defiantly. "I'm done hiding! No more lies!"
Kaito stared, baffled. "What… are you saying?"
"I've found my reason to live," I growled. "You caused my pain."
I shouted madly, "Rin! Come face the man who shielded you!"
Rin emerged, enraged, and slapped me. I kept laughing. "Whose territory is this, Kaito? The real war starts now!"
Rin snarled at her father, "Kill him! Make him suffer!"
Kaito aimed a gun. You'll regret defying me."
I smirked. "You think I'll die here? NEVER!"
"FIRE!"An expert sniper's bullet exploded Kaito's skull.
Soldiers rained from the ceilings, slaughtering henchmen. Rin and Shido fled toward an airstrip. A soldier freed me, and I chased them.
"How did this happen?!" Rin cried as they ran.
At the runway, Rin grabbed Yui as a hostage. "If you won't be mine, you'll be NO ONE'S!"
"Let her GO!" I roared.
Shido lunged from behind. "You think grabbing me twice would work?" I shot him point-blank. "Goodbye, old friend."
As I turned, Rin shot me four times in the back. I spun and fired once—her head snapped back.
Collapsing, I felt blood pool beneath me. Yui rushed over, sobbing. "Don't die!"
I clasped her hand. "Yui… you're my reason. Live for us both."
She leaned down. Our lips met softly—a kiss of love, pain, and final peace.
With that kiss, I closed my eyes. My heart stopped, but my love for Yui endured.
